A narrow win with real significance

On paper, this was a fixture that favoured the visitors. CS Sfaxien are one of the established powers of Tunisian football, a club with a proud history in domestic and continental competition. But league football is not played on paper, and Progres Sakiet Eddaier delivered a performance full of grit, organisation, and belief.

The decisive goal

The match's only goal came from a moment of genuine quality, crafted by persistence as much as skill. Progres pressed high, forced a turnover in a dangerous area, and punished the mistake ruthlessly. The finish was confident, and the celebration that followed showed exactly how much the strike meant to the home dressing room. From that point on, every player in the Progres shirt understood their task: defend the lead with everything they had.

Tactical story: a defensive masterclass

After taking the lead, Progres Sakiet Eddaier dropped into a disciplined mid-to-low block, denying CS Sfaxien space between the lines. The visitors dominated the ball, swinging crosses into the box and probing for gaps, but the home defence held their shape superbly. Every clearance was met with commitment, and the goalkeeper produced a series of important stops to preserve the clean sheet and, crucially, all three points.
