Megrine secured a composed 2-0 victory over Stade Soussien in the Tunisian Professional League 2 on 18 October 2026, combining disciplined defending with two well-timed goals. The home side were organised from the first whistle and protected their lead intelligently once they went ahead.

Match overview

Megrine started with a measured approach, keeping their shape and allowing Stade Soussien to have possession in less dangerous areas. The visitors saw more of the ball in the opening half-hour but struggled to turn that control into clear chances. Megrine’s compact midfield denied central space and forced Stade Soussien into wide deliveries that were comfortably handled.

The opening goal came in the 31st minute when Youssef Ben Amor timed his run into the box perfectly and finished a low cross from the right. Stade Soussien tried to respond before half-time, but Megrine’s goalkeeper Mehdi Kouki made two important saves to preserve the advantage. The second goal arrived in the 77th minute through Ali Trabelsi, who capitalised on a quick counter and sealed the result.

Key moments

• 18’ – First warning: Stade Soussien force a save from a long-range effort.
• 31’ – Megrine take the lead: Youssef Ben Amor finishes a well-worked move down the right.
• 43’ – Crucial stop: Mehdi Kouki denies Stade Soussien from close range.
• 64’ – Megrine close to a second: A header from a corner clips the crossbar.
• 77’ – Game sealed: Ali Trabelsi finishes a fast counter-attack for 2-0.

Tactical story

Megrine’s success was built on defensive discipline. Their midfield stayed compact, their back line held a strong line and their wide players tracked back diligently. Stade Soussien enjoyed possession but rarely found a way through the middle, and their crosses were often met by well-positioned defenders.

In transition, Megrine were sharp. Both goals came from moments when they won the ball and attacked quickly, showing the value of their direct running and intelligent movement. Once 2-0 ahead, they managed the game well, slowing the tempo and limiting Stade Soussien’s chances of a comeback.

Standout players

Ben Amor’s opener was the defining moment and his movement caused problems throughout. Trabelsi’s second-half goal gave Megrine breathing room, while Kouki’s saves were essential in keeping the clean sheet intact. For Stade Soussien, the midfield worked hard to create rhythm, but the final pass was missing on too many occasions.

Table impact

The three points strengthen Megrine’s position in the Tunisian Professional League 2 standings and provide a solid platform for their next fixtures. A clean sheet will be particularly satisfying for the coaching staff, as it underlined the team’s defensive structure. Stade Soussien, meanwhile, will need to find more penetration in the final third after a frustrating evening.

The 2-0 scoreline may not have been the most dramatic of the round, but it was a mature performance from Megrine: patient in possession, compact without the ball and clinical when the key moments arrived.
