CS Korba 2-1 Olympique du Kef: Late Winner Settles Tight League 2 Contest

CS Korba edged Olympique du Kef 2-1 in a hard-fought Tunisian Professional League 2 encounter on October 19, 2026, with a late goal deciding a match that swung back and forth at Stade Municipal de Korba. The home side led early, survived a determined Kef comeback, and found the winning moment in the closing stages to claim all three points.

The result gives CS Korba an important boost in the league standings and reinforces their reputation as a difficult team to beat on home soil. Olympique du Kef, meanwhile, left with frustration after producing a much-improved second-half display but failing to hold on for a share of the points.

Match Overview

Korba began brightly and took the lead in the 12th minute through Seifeddine Jaziri, who reacted quickest after a corner was only partially cleared. The early goal gave the hosts confidence, and they dictated the tempo for much of the first half. Jaziri was a constant threat on the shoulder of the last defender, while Korba’s midfield pressed aggressively to stop Kef from settling into a rhythm.

Olympique du Kef improved after the break and equalised in the 58th minute when Walid Hamdi finished neatly from the edge of the box after a patient build-up. The goal changed the mood of the contest, and Kef enjoyed their best spell of the match as they pushed for a second. Korba responded by introducing fresh legs from the bench, and that decision ultimately paid off when Mehdi Ayari struck the winner in the 84th minute.

Key Moments

• 12th minute: Seifeddine Jaziri gives CS Korba an early lead after a scramble from a corner.
• 58th minute: Walid Hamdi equalises for Olympique du Kef with a well-placed low finish.
• 76th minute: Korba goalkeeper makes a crucial save to deny Kef a second goal.
• 84th minute: Mehdi Ayari scores the winner after a quick move down the right flank.

The closing minutes were tense, with Olympique du Kef pushing numbers forward in search of another equaliser. Korba defended with determination and used their experience to slow the game down, drawing fouls and keeping the ball in wide areas. The final whistle brought relief around the ground and confirmed a valuable home victory.

Tactical Story

CS Korba set up with an energetic 4-3-3, looking to press Kef’s defenders and force mistakes in the build-up. That approach worked well in the first half, when Korba won possession high and created several half-chances. The hosts’ wide players stretched the pitch, creating space for Jaziri and Ayari to attack the box.

Olympique du Kef adjusted after the interval, moving the ball more quickly through midfield and finding space behind Korba’s advanced full-backs. Their equaliser came during a period of sustained pressure, and for a while they looked the more likely winners. However, Korba’s bench made a difference, adding energy in midfield and fresh pace in attack. The winning goal came from exactly the kind of direct transition the home coach had been demanding.

Standout Players

Jaziri’s movement and early goal set the tone for CS Korba, while Ayari’s impact as a substitute proved decisive. In midfield, Korba’s captain provided leadership and composure during the difficult spell after Kef’s equaliser. For Olympique du Kef, Hamdi was the standout performer, combining energy with a well-taken goal, and their goalkeeper made several important saves to keep the visitors in the contest.

Season Impact

The win gives CS Korba three precious points in the Tunisian Professional League 2 and strengthens their position in a crowded promotion picture. Late victories can be worth more than just the points; they build belief and signal that the squad can respond under pressure. Olympique du Kef will take encouragement from their second-half performance but must turn improved displays into results. The head-to-head record now favours Korba, and the next round will test whether they can carry this momentum forward.
