Dynamic Togolais 1–1 AC Barracuda

A pulsating encounter in the Togolese Premier Division ended in a 1–1 draw between Dynamic Togolais and AC Barracuda on Sunday evening. Both sides had chances to win it, but a share of the spoils was a fair reflection of an open, competitive match.

Barracuda strike first

AC Barracuda started brightly and took the lead in the 14th minute. A swift move down the right flank saw winger Kossi Agbétiafa cross for striker Mawuli Kossi, who rose highest to head past the Dynamic goalkeeper. The visitors continued to pressure, but Dynamic’s defence held firm.

Dynamic Togolais grew into the game as the first half progressed. Their midfield, led by Komlan Amewou, began to impose themselves, and they created a few half-chances before the break. However, Barracuda’s goalkeeper Kodjo Dosseh was equal to everything thrown his way.

Second-half response

Dynamic came out with renewed energy after the interval. They pushed Barracuda deep into their own half and finally found the equaliser in the 63rd minute. A corner kick was only partially cleared, and the ball fell to defender Efoé Atchou, who smashed a half-volley into the roof of the net from 12 yards.

The momentum swung firmly in Dynamic’s favour, and they looked the more likely to score a winner. Substitute striker Yao Amétépé had a powerful shot saved in the 78th minute, and a goal-line clearance denied them in the 85th. Barracuda, though, defended resolutely and even threatened on the counter in stoppage time.

League position update

The draw leaves Dynamic Togolais in fifth place in the Premier Division, six points off the top of the table. AC Barracuda remain in midtable, sitting seventh, but they will be pleased to have taken a point away from home against a strong opponent.

For Dynamic, the result was a missed opportunity to close the gap on the leaders. They will aim to return to winning ways next weekend when they travel to Maranatha FC. Barracuda, meanwhile, host Asko de Kara in what could be a winnable fixture.
