Tactical story

Udon Banjan United’s win was built on aggressive pressing and quick ball circulation. Their midfield won the majority of second balls, allowing the team to sustain attacks and pin Khonkaen Mordindang deep in their own half. The home side also used the width of the pitch effectively, creating overloads on both flanks.

Khonkaen Mordindang FC tried to respond with counter-attacks, but they were often isolated in forward areas and could not keep possession long enough to relieve pressure. Once Udon Banjan scored the third goal, the match was effectively over as a contest.

Somchai Wongsa was the standout player with two goals and a constant threat in behind the defence. Anucha Khamdee’s movement and aerial presence caused problems throughout, while Pichit Thongchai added the finishing touch late on. Udon Banjan’s goalkeeper was rarely tested, but the defensive line deserved credit for a well-earned clean sheet.

Khonkaen Mordindang FC will need to regroup after a difficult afternoon, particularly defensively.
