Muang Trang United secured a disciplined 2-0 away win over Nakhon Si United FC in Thai League 3 on 17 October 2026, combining clinical finishing with a resolute clean sheet.

Nakhon Si United FC had plenty of the ball but struggled to turn possession into clear chances, while Muang Trang United defended intelligently and attacked with purpose. Two well-timed goals either side of the hour mark gave the visitors control, and their back line held firm under late pressure to seal an important three points on the road.

Match overview

The first half was a study in patience. Nakhon Si United moved the ball neatly through midfield and looked to create openings down the flanks, but Muang Trang United maintained a compact defensive shape and limited space in the final third. The visitors took the lead in the 29th minute when Sittichai Kaewprom reacted quickest to a loose ball inside the box and fired low into the net.

Nakhon Si increased their tempo after the break, pushing more players forward in search of an equaliser. That ambition left gaps at the back, and Muang Trang capitalised in the 66th minute when a fast counter-attack ended with a composed finish from the edge of the area. The home side continued to press, but Muang Trang’s goalkeeper made two important saves in the final 15 minutes to preserve the clean sheet.

Key moments

• 29th minute: Sittichai Kaewprom gives Muang Trang United the lead.
• 48th minute: Nakhon Si United force a smart save from the visiting goalkeeper.
• 66th minute: Muang Trang double their advantage after a rapid counter-attack.
• 84th minute: Another strong stop keeps the home side scoreless.

Tactical story

Nakhon Si United FC controlled possession for long periods, but their attacking play lacked the penetration needed to break down a well-organised opponent. Muang Trang United sat deep without being passive, pressing at the right moments and forcing turnovers in midfield. Their defensive discipline was the foundation of the result, and their ability to break at speed made them dangerous throughout.

The away side’s game plan became even more effective after taking the lead. Nakhon Si had to commit more bodies forward, which created the space Muang Trang needed for their second goal. The home team’s late pressure was energetic but increasingly desperate, and the visitors managed the closing minutes with maturity. It was a textbook away performance built on structure, concentration and efficiency.

Standout players

Sittichai Kaewprom was the match-winner for Muang Trang United, showing excellent anticipation for the opening goal. The goalkeeper also deserved credit for a string of saves that protected the two-goal cushion. Nakhon Si United’s midfielders worked hard to keep the team moving forward, but the final pass was missing too often. Their centre-back pairing dealt with several crosses well, yet the team as a whole could not find a way through Muang Trang’s defensive block.

Standings impact

The away victory gives Muang Trang United a valuable boost in the Thai League 3 table and underlines their ability to win without dominating possession. Nakhon Si United FC remain in need of a response after a frustrating home defeat, especially with the competitive nature of the division leaving little room for dropped points. For Muang Trang, the clean sheet will be just as satisfying as the goals, as it shows the kind of defensive solidity that can sustain a strong run.
