Muang Trang United produced a professional home performance to defeat Ranong United FC 2-0 in Thai League 3 on Sunday, October 11, 2026. Two well-worked goals either side of half-time secured all three points and extended their unbeaten run on home soil.

Match Overview

The 19:00 kick-off at Muang Trang Stadium saw the hosts start on the front foot, pressing high and forcing Ranong United into early mistakes. Muang Trang's midfield controlled the tempo, switching play from side to side to stretch the visitors' defence. Ranong, meanwhile, looked to hit on the break but found little joy against a well-organised back line.

The opening goal arrived in the 23rd minute. A slick passing move down the left ended with a low cross into the penalty area, and striker Somchai Suwan finished clinically at the near post. Ranong responded with a few half-chances, but their best effort was a long-range strike that flew wide.

Key Moments

Muang Trang doubled their lead in the 58th minute. A quick counter-attack after a Ranong corner saw the ball played into the channel for winger Anucha Prom, who cut inside and curled a precise shot into the far corner. That goal effectively ended the contest, as Ranong struggled to create anything meaningful thereafter.

The visitors did have a penalty appeal waved away in the 72nd minute, and Muang Trang goalkeeper Prawet Chaiyaporn made a sharp save from a header late on to keep his clean sheet intact. The home side managed the game well in the final 15 minutes, keeping possession and running down the clock.

Tactical Story

Muang Trang United set up in a 4-2-3-1, with the two holding midfielders providing a solid base for the attacking quartet. Their full-backs pushed high, creating width and allowing the wingers to drift inside. Ranong United FC used a 4-4-2 but were often overrun in midfield, unable to string passes together under pressure. The hosts' pressing was the key difference, forcing turnovers in dangerous areas.

Standout Players

• Somchai Suwan (Muang Trang United): Opened the scoring with a poacher's finish and led the line with energy.
• Anucha Prom (Muang Trang United): Scored a brilliant second goal and was a constant threat on the wing.
• Prawet Chaiyaporn (Muang Trang United): Made two important saves to secure the clean sheet.

For Ranong United FC, it is a setback that leaves them needing to regroup quickly. The result also underlines Muang Trang's home advantage, which could prove crucial in the race for the title.
