Khonkaen FC and Pitchayabundit College shared the points in Thai League 3 on Sunday, 18 October 2026, drawing 1-1 after a hard-fought contest that remained in the balance until the final whistle. Khonkaen enjoyed more possession, but Pitchayabundit defended resolutely and found an equaliser that their second-half performance deserved.

Match overview

Khonkaen FC started with intent, pressing high and looking to dominate the ball in midfield. Their early pressure produced the opening goal, but they were unable to build on that advantage. Pitchayabundit College grew into the game after the break, defended deeper and became more dangerous on the counter-attack.

Key moments

• 22’ – Khonkaen lead: Anucha Promsri struck from the edge of the box after a neat lay-off from the striker.
• 44’ – Pitchayabundit warning: A quick break ended with a shot that narrowly cleared the crossbar.
• 58’ – Khonkaen chance: A header from a corner was saved well by the Pitchayabundit goalkeeper.
• 78’ – The equaliser: Kittisak Wongchai finished calmly after a counter-attack exposed Khonkaen’s advanced full-backs.
• 90+1’ – Late pressure: Khonkaen sent a free-kick into the box, but the visitors cleared the danger.

Tactical story

Khonkaen FC controlled large spells of the match with a patient possession game, but they lacked a cutting edge in the final third. Their full-backs pushed high, which gave them width but also left them exposed when Pitchayabundit broke quickly.

Pitchayabundit College adapted well after half-time, dropping their midfield line deeper and inviting Khonkaen forward before hitting them on the break. The equalising goal came from exactly that pattern, and it changed the mood of the contest.

Standout players

Anucha Promsri was Khonkaen’s most dangerous player, scoring the opener and linking play well. Kittisak Wongchai took his equalising chance with composure, while Pitchayabundit’s goalkeeper made several important saves to keep his side in the match.

Season impact

The draw keeps Khonkaen FC in the promotion conversation but leaves them frustrated at dropping points at home. Pitchayabundit College will view the point as a positive result and a sign of their resilience in Thai League 3. Both teams remain with work to do as the season progresses.
