Match overview

The Thai League 3 clash at Kasem Bundit University Stadium was a typical third-tier contest: physical, direct and full of midfield duels. Ayutthaya FC started the brighter and were rewarded for their early pressure when Thanawat Sriwichai opened the scoring in the 34th minute, finishing calmly after a quick move down the right.

Kasem Bundit University FC grew into the game after the break, pushing their full-backs higher and committing more bodies forward. The equaliser arrived in the 78th minute through substitute Punnawat Chaisuwan, who reacted quickest inside the box after a corner was only half-cleared. Neither side could find a winner in the closing stages, despite a frantic final ten minutes.

Tactical story

Ayutthaya FC set up to press aggressively in the first half and were rewarded with the opener. Their midfield pressed in coordinated bursts, forcing Kasem Bundit University FC into long balls and limiting the home side's ability to play through the middle. The visitors also targeted the channels behind the full-backs, creating several crossing opportunities.

Kasem Bundit University FC adjusted after the interval, moving their midfield line higher and using the width of the pitch more effectively. The introduction of fresh legs from the bench added energy, and the equaliser came from exactly the kind of set-piece pressure they had been building. Ayutthaya FC dropped deeper in response, and while they defended their box well for long spells, they struggled to keep possession in the final fifteen minutes.

Standout players

Thanawat Sriwichai was Ayutthaya FC's most dangerous player, not only for his goal but also for his movement between the lines. He dropped deep to link play and repeatedly pulled the Kasem Bundit centre-backs out of position. In midfield, Ayutthaya's captain provided composure and covered plenty of ground.

For Kasem Bundit University FC, Punnawat Chaisuwan made the difference after coming off the bench, adding directness and a goal threat. The home goalkeeper also made two important saves in the first half to keep the deficit manageable. The left-back was another bright spot, consistently overlapping and delivering dangerous crosses in the second half.

Season impact

The draw keeps both clubs in the thick of the Thai League 3 campaign, though they will view it differently. Ayutthaya FC will be disappointed to have surrendered a lead but can take heart from an away performance that showed attacking quality. Kasem Bundit University FC showed character to come from behind and will be encouraged by their second-half response.

In a league where consistency is often the difference between promotion contention and mid-table safety, both sides will need to turn draws into wins in the coming weeks. Ayutthaya FC will look to sharpen their game management when protecting a lead, while Kasem Bundit University FC will target a faster start after another slow opening period.
