For Chiangrai, Anucha Prasert and Pichit Srisuwan were the standout performers, but defensive lapses cost them dearly.

Tactical Story

Chiangrai used a 4-2-3-1 and created chances through wide overloads, but their full-backs were often caught too high, leaving space for Phichit's counter-attacks. The winning goal came from exactly that scenario: a Chiangrai attack broke down, and Phichit swept forward in three passes.

Season Impact

This result pushes Phichit United 2021 into a stronger position in the Thai League 3 standings, while Chiangrai City FC miss an opportunity to climb. The away win also improves Phichit's head-to-head record against a direct rival. Both teams will need to address defensive issues if they are to challenge for promotion.
