How the Match Unfolded

Chainat Hornbill started quickly and imposed themselves on the game, dominating possession in the opening half hour and pinning Songkhla back in their own half. The breakthrough came from a patient build-up, with the ball worked into a dangerous area before being finished confidently.

The second goal arrived not long afterwards and effectively settled the contest. Another well-constructed attacking sequence stretched the Songkhla defence, and the finish was ruthless — putting the Hornbills firmly in control before the interval.

To Songkhla's credit, they improved after the break. The visitors pushed their full-backs higher, pressed with more purpose and created a handful of half-chances. But Chainat's defensive organisation was excellent, and the Hornbills kept their opponents at arm's length for the remainder of the match, comfortably protecting the two-goal cushion.

Tactical Story

Chainat Hornbill's success came from controlling the middle of the pitch. Their central midfielders dictated tempo, recycled possession intelligently and consistently found the spare man when Songkhla pressed. That numerical advantage in midfield allowed the home side to progress the ball methodically rather than hurriedly.

Defensively, the Hornbills were compact and disciplined. They dropped into a solid shape whenever they lost possession and forced Songkhla to attack down the flanks, where crosses were comfortably dealt with by a dominant centre-back pairing. The visitors' best moments came from set pieces and long-range efforts, but they never found a way to genuinely unsettle the Chainat goalkeeper.

Standout Performers

The Chainat goalscorers deserve credit for taking their chances during the period when the game was still competitive. Equally important was the midfield, which controlled the rhythm of the match and consistently won the second balls that allowed the Hornbills to sustain pressure.

For Songkhla FC, the full-backs were their most willing contributors, pushing forward in the second half and trying to spark a comeback. The team's commitment never wavered, but they lacked the cutting edge required to turn territory into goals.

What It Means in the Table

A convincing home win with a clean sheet is exactly the foundation a Thai League 2 side needs over a long, demanding campaign. Chainat Hornbill FC strengthen both their points tally and their goal difference, two factors that often decide the fine margins in the race for promotion places.

Songkhla FC leave with a difficult afternoon behind them but with clear evidence of where improvement is needed. Creating more high-quality chances against organised opposition will be the focus as they look to climb the standings and put this result behind them.
