True Bangkok United produced a ruthless Thai FA Cup performance on 21 October 2026, dismantling Old Blood 8-0 to storm into the next round.

The Bangkok giants were dominant from the first whistle, scoring early and never allowing the visitors to settle. By half-time the tie was effectively over, and the second half became a display of controlled attacking football as Bangkok United added to their tally.

Match overview

Bangkok United opened the scoring inside the first ten minutes and doubled their lead soon after. Old Blood struggled to cope with the pace of the home side’s movement, and once the second goal went in, the match took on a one-sided rhythm. Bangkok United’s midfield pressed high, forcing errors and creating repeated chances.

The hosts led 5-0 at half-time, with their forward line finding space between Old Blood’s defenders almost at will. The second half followed a similar pattern, though Bangkok United managed the game carefully and avoided unnecessary risks. Three more goals arrived after the break to complete the rout.

Key moments

• 6th minute: Bangkok United open the scoring with a sharp finish from inside the box.
• 14th minute: A quick passing move doubles the lead.
• 23rd minute: The third goal arrives after a high turnover.
• 31st minute: Bangkok United add a fourth with a header from a cross.
• 45+2: A fifth goal before half-time leaves Old Blood with a mountain to climb.
• 58th, 72nd, 85th minutes: Bangkok United complete the 8-0 win with three second-half goals.

Tactical story

Bangkok United’s approach was simple but devastating: win the ball back quickly, move it wide, and attack the penalty area with numbers. Their full-backs pushed high, creating overloads on both flanks, while the midfielders arrived late to pick up loose balls around the box.

Old Blood attempted to defend deep, but the sheer volume of chances eventually broke their resistance. The visitors did not abandon their efforts, but they could not sustain possession long enough to relieve pressure. Bangkok United’s intensity never dropped, even after the game was decided.

Standout performers

Bangkok United’s central striker was relentless, completing a first-half hat-trick and linking play effectively throughout. The two wide forwards caused constant problems with their dribbling, and the midfield controller dictated the pace of the game. Old Blood’s goalkeeper made several saves and deserves credit for continuing to compete until the final whistle.

Thai FA Cup impact

An 8-0 win is a statement result, even against lower-level opposition. True Bangkok United will take confidence from their clinical finishing and clean sheet as they move forward in the Thai FA Cup. The challenge will be to carry that sharpness into tougher fixtures against stronger sides.

For Old Blood, the defeat is a harsh learning experience, but the cup run itself remains a positive chapter. Bangkok United, meanwhile, will be pleased with the professionalism shown in avoiding any complacency after taking an early lead.
