Kasem Bundit University FC edged past Toko Customs United 2-1 in a tightly contested Thai FA Cup tie, booking their place in the next round after a disciplined and hard-fought performance. The university side controlled large spells of the match and were rewarded for their patience with two well-taken goals, but Toko Customs United's late response ensured a tense finish at Kasem Bundit University Stadium.

Match Overview

The hosts started brightly, pressing high and moving the ball quickly through midfield. Their early dominance paid off when a neatly constructed passing move opened the scoring, with a low finish into the corner after a smart cut-back from the left flank. Toko Customs United responded with a more physical approach, winning fouls and delivering several dangerous set pieces, but they struggled to create clear chances from open play in the first period.

The second half followed a similar pattern. Kasem Bundit doubled their advantage midway through the half, capitalising on a loose ball in the box and converting from close range. That goal looked to have settled the contest, but Toko Customs United refused to surrender and pulled one back with a header from a corner, sparking a frantic final fifteen minutes in which both sides had chances to change the scoreline again.

Key Moments

• Opening goal: A flowing move down the left ended with a composed finish to give Kasem Bundit a deserved lead.
• Denied by the woodwork: Toko Customs United struck the frame of the goal from a free kick just before half-time.
• The decisive second: A scramble in the box was turned in to double the advantage early in the second half.
• Lifeline header: A well-delivered corner was headed home to reduce the deficit and set up a tense finale.
• Late save: Kasem Bundit's goalkeeper produced a strong stop in stoppage time to preserve the win.

Tactical Story

Kasem Bundit's success was built on control rather than domination. Their midfield trio circulated the ball intelligently, drawing Toko Customs United out of shape before switching play to the flanks. The full-backs provided width and created overloads that consistently troubled the visitors' defensive line. Without the ball, the hosts pressed in coordinated blocks, forcing long passes and limiting their opponents to speculative efforts from distance.

Toko Customs United improved significantly after the break, pushing their wingers higher and playing more directly to their central striker. The change in approach produced more crosses and set-piece opportunities, which ultimately delivered their goal. However, the timing of the second goal conceded proved costly, and their inability to convert pressure into clear chances during their best spell left them chasing the game.

What It Means

The victory takes Kasem Bundit University FC into the next stage of the Thai FA Cup and underlines the growing strength of university football in Thailand. Their discipline, composure in possession, and willingness to work defensively offer a solid foundation for the remainder of the campaign. For Toko Customs United, the cup exit will be frustrating, but the second-half fight demonstrated character that can be carried into league fixtures.

In a knockout competition where margins are often decided by small details, this was a tie won by control, patience, and a goalkeeper who delivered when it mattered. Kasem Bundit march on, while Toko Customs United are left to reflect on what might have been.
