Sardor Tursunzoda and FK Eskhata played out a tense 1-1 draw in the Tajikistan Higher League on 12 October 2026, a result that kept both clubs locked in the mid-table battle and left each side with a sense of a point gained and two dropped.

The contest at the Sardor Tursunzoda Stadium was a classic example of Tajik domestic football at its most competitive: physical, tactically disciplined, and decided by two moments of genuine quality. Sardor Tursunzoda struck first through a well-worked move, but Eskhata responded after the break to earn a share of the points.

Match Overview

The home side started with intent, pressing high and forcing Eskhata into a series of early clearances. Their reward arrived in the 34th minute when Jamshed Rahimov latched onto a clever through ball and finished low past the visiting goalkeeper to make it 1-0.

Eskhata, who have built a reputation for resilience in the Higher League, regrouped after the interval. They pushed their full-backs higher and began to dominate possession, and the equaliser arrived in the 71st minute when Farrukh Nazarov converted a header from a deep cross.

Key Moments

• 34' – Sardor Tursunzoda 1-0: Jamshed Rahimov races onto a defence-splitting pass and slots the ball into the bottom corner.
• 52' – Eskhata's response: A double substitution shifts the momentum, with Eskhata forcing three corners in quick succession.
• 71' – FK Eskhata 1-1: Farrukh Nazarov rises highest at the back post to head home from a whipped delivery.
• 88' – Late chance: Sardor Tursunzoda almost snatch a winner, but a goal-bound shot is cleared off the line.

Tactical Story

Sardor Tursunzoda lined up in a compact 4-2-3-1, looking to spring quick counter-attacks through the channels. For much of the first half it worked perfectly, with the midfield duo shielding the back four and the wide players stretching Eskhata's defensive line.

Eskhata's manager responded by switching to a 3-5-2 after the break, which gave them numerical superiority in midfield. The change allowed them to pin Sardor Tursunzoda deeper and create the sustained pressure that eventually produced the equaliser. It was a tactical battle that both coaches will study closely in the coming weeks.

Standout Players

Jamshed Rahimov was the brightest attacking force for the hosts, combining sharp movement with a clinical finish. In midfield, Sukhrob Davlatov dictated the tempo and repeatedly broke up Eskhata's rhythm. For the visitors, Farrukh Nazarov was the match-saver, not only for his goal but for his tireless work in linking midfield and attack. Goalkeeper Daler Mirzoev also made two important saves to keep Eskhata level.

Season Impact

The draw leaves Sardor Tursunzoda and FK Eskhata separated by only a narrow margin in the Tajikistan Higher League standings. Neither side managed to gain a decisive advantage in the race for a top-half finish, and both will view the upcoming fixtures as crucial opportunities to build momentum. With the league table still tightly packed, every point from matches like this one could prove decisive by the end of the season.
