There was no separating Tatran Liptovský Mikuláš and MFK Lokomotiva Zvolen as the two Slovak 2. Liga sides played out an entertaining 2-2 draw on 15 August 2026. Home fans were celebrating inside the opening quarter of an hour when Tatran LM opened the scoring with a neat finish following a well-timed through-ball. The lead did not last long, however, as Lokomotiva Zvolen responded quickly with a goal of their own, converting from a corner after a scramble in the penalty area.

The tempo remained high as both sides searched for the next goal. Tatran regained the advantage before half-time when their striker lifted the ball over the advancing keeper from a tight angle, making it 2-1 at the break.

Zvolen fight back to earn a share

Lokomotiva Zvolen came out with renewed purpose in the second half. They pushed higher up the pitch and were rewarded after the hour mark when a well-struck volley from the edge of the box flew into the bottom corner to make it 2-2. The visitors then braced for pressure as Tatran LM pressed for a winning goal late on.

Despite a flurry of late chances, neither side could find a decisive third. The 2-2 result leaves both clubs with a single point from their encounter, and it is a fair outcome from a match which produced ample attacking entertainment for the neutral observer.
