Grand Saconnex claimed a hard-fought 2-1 away victory over Zurich B team in the Switzerland Divison 1 League on Saturday, 26 September 2026, scoring late to snatch all three points in a closely contested match.

The visitors were resilient and clinical, absorbing pressure before hitting Zurich B team on the counter-attack. Zurich’s young side showed flashes of quality, especially in the second half, but Grand Saconnex’s experience and game management proved decisive in the final stages.

Match overview

Zurich B team began the match with plenty of possession, looking to play out from the back and create chances through quick combinations. Grand Saconnex, however, were well organised and dangerous whenever they won the ball in midfield. The opening goal came against the run of play, and from that moment the game became a tactical battle between Zurich’s patience and Grand Saconnex’s counter-attacking threat.

Key moments

• 19 minutes: Milan Perrin put Grand Saconnex ahead, finishing calmly after a swift break down the left.
• 52 minutes: Luca Brunner equalised for Zurich B team with a well-placed shot from just outside the box.
• 77 minutes: Yanis Dupraz restored Grand Saconnex’s lead, converting a cross at the back post.
• 89 minutes: Zurich B team pushed forward for an equaliser, but Grand Saconnex cleared a dangerous free-kick.

Tactical story

Zurich B team’s young players were comfortable in possession, but they sometimes took too long to move the ball forward, allowing Grand Saconnex to reset their defensive shape. Grand Saconnex, by contrast, were direct and purposeful. Their wingers stretched the pitch, and their two goals came from quick transitions that caught Zurich’s defence out of position. The home side’s substitutes added energy late on, but the equaliser never arrived.

Standout players

Milan Perrin was a constant threat for Grand Saconnex, using his pace to run in behind and opening the scoring with a composed finish. Yanis Dupraz’s late goal was the product of excellent movement in the box, and he was a handful throughout. For Zurich B team, Luca Brunner was the standout, driving forward from midfield and scoring a fine equaliser. The young goalkeeper also made several important saves to keep the scoreline close.

What the win means

Grand Saconnex will be delighted with an away win against a development side that is always difficult to face. The three points strengthen their position in the Switzerland Divison 1 League and highlight their ability to win in different ways. Zurich B team will take encouragement from their second-half response, but they will need to be more ruthless in both boxes if they are to turn promising performances into results.
