Key moments

FC Coffrane opened the scoring after a well-worked attacking move, and the home crowd barely had time to settle before the lead was doubled. The second goal came from a turnover in midfield, with Coffrane breaking quickly and finishing with authority. Vevey Sports managed a response before halftime, briefly suggesting a comeback might be on the cards.

Any hopes of a Vevey revival were extinguished early in the second half. FC Coffrane restored their two-goal cushion and then added two more as the visitors began to tire. The fifth goal was the highlight of the afternoon, a sweeping move that ended with a composed finish. Vevey Sports, meanwhile, were left to rue defensive errors and their failure to cope with Coffrane’s intensity.

Tactical story

FC Coffrane’s midfield dictated the rhythm. They pressed aggressively when out of possession and switched play intelligently when they had the ball. The front line stretched the Vevey Sports back four, creating gaps for late runners from midfield. It was a complete attacking performance, with goals coming from different phases of play rather than a single source.

Vevey Sports had moments of promise but lacked consistency. Their defensive line was often too deep, inviting pressure, and when they did win the ball, they were slow to transition. The one goal they scored was well taken, but it was a brief exception in a match otherwise dominated by the hosts.

Standout performers

FC Coffrane’s attacking players will take the plaudits, particularly the forwards who combined movement with clinical finishing. The midfield also deserves recognition for its energy and control. Defensively, Coffrane were not perfect, but they limited Vevey Sports to few clear chances after the visitors’ goal.

For Vevey Sports, the defeat highlights the need for greater compactness and better protection of the central areas. The result leaves them with work to do, while FC Coffrane can take real encouragement from a five-goal home win.

Season impact

The victory gives FC Coffrane a significant boost in the Switzerland Division 2 League table and reinforces their reputation as a dangerous home side. For Vevey Sports, the heavy loss is a reminder of how quickly games can slip away when defensive structure breaks down. Both teams will now prepare for their next fixtures with very different moods.
