Chenois 0-4 Vevey Sports — Vevey Sports produced a ruthless away performance to beat Chenois 4-0 in the Switzerland Division 2 League, turning a competitive opening into a one-sided victory with a burst of clinical finishing. The win strengthens Vevey’s push in the table and leaves Chenois with plenty to correct after a difficult night at home.

Match Overview

Chenois began with intent, pressing high and trying to force mistakes in the Vevey build-up. For the first ten minutes, the hosts looked energetic and willing to attack through the wide channels. But once Vevey settled, they took control of the midfield and began to cut through Chenois with direct, purposeful passing.

The opening goal arrived in the 12th minute and changed the mood of the match. Chenois tried to respond, but Vevey’s defensive line held a high line and repeatedly caught the home attack offside. By half-time, the visitors had doubled their lead and were firmly in command.

Key Moments

• 12’ — Vevey took the lead with a low finish after a quick break down the right.
• 38’ — A well-worked move ended with a composed strike into the bottom corner, making it 2-0.
• 67’ — Chenois’s hopes faded further when a defensive mistake allowed Vevey to score a third.
• 72’ — Chenois were reduced to ten men after a second booking, leaving them with a mountain to climb.
• 84’ — Vevey completed the rout with a close-range finish, capping a dominant second-half display.

Tactical Story

Vevey Sports were excellent in transition. Their midfield won possession aggressively and then moved the ball forward quickly, often targeting the space behind Chenois’s advanced full-backs. The front three rotated constantly, making it difficult for the home defence to mark runners or predict where the next attack would come from.

Chenois, meanwhile, struggled to maintain their early intensity. As the game wore on, their passing became sloppy and their shape stretched. The red card made recovery almost impossible, but even before that, Vevey had looked the sharper and more organised side. Their pressing traps in wide areas forced Chenois into long balls that were comfortably defended.

Standout Players

Vevey’s Lucas Moreira was a constant threat, scoring twice and stretching the Chenois defence with his movement. His ability to drift between the lines and then sprint in behind gave the hosts problems all evening. In midfield, Vevey’s captain controlled the tempo, winning tackles and distributing calmly under pressure.

For Chenois, the goalkeeper made several saves to keep the score from becoming even more lopsided, while their young winger showed flashes of promise in the first half. But too many players endured an off-night, and the team never recovered after conceding early.

Table Impact

A 4-0 away win is a significant statement in the Switzerland Division 2 League, where goal difference can matter greatly in the race for promotion or playoff places. Vevey Sports will take confidence from the clean sheet and the efficiency of their attack. Chenois, on the other hand, must regroup quickly, tighten their defensive shape, and find a way to avoid the costly turnovers that led to their downfall.
