Hammarby claimed a dramatic 2-1 away victory over Malmö FF in the Sweden Allsvenskan on 1 November 2026, scoring late at the Eleda Stadion to take all three points from one of the season’s most competitive fixtures. The result strengthens Hammarby’s push for a high finish in the Allsvenskan standings while dealing Malmö FF a costly setback in the closing stages of the campaign.

Match overview

Malmö FF dictated much of the possession and built their attacks through patient circulation, but Hammarby remained compact, disciplined and dangerous on the break. The visitors pressed intelligently in midfield and forced Malmö into several rushed passes in the final third. With both teams committing numbers forward after the interval, the contest opened up and produced a tense finish that reflected the importance of the points.

Key moments

• 14th minute: Hammarby took the lead after a quick transition, with a low cross converted from close range.
• 39th minute: Malmö FF equalised through a well-worked move down the left, finished with a composed strike inside the box.
• 84th minute: Hammarby regained the advantage with a late winner, capitalising on a loose ball after a corner.
• 90+3 minutes: Malmö FF pushed forward in search of a leveller, but a goal-line clearance preserved Hammarby’s victory.

Tactical story

Malmö FF’s build-up play was patient, but Hammarby’s midfield block made it difficult for the home side to find clean entries into the penalty area. The visitors were happy to concede territory and attack through quick vertical passes, a plan that produced the opening goal and ultimately the winner. Malmö increased the tempo after equalising, yet their final ball lacked precision at key moments, and Hammarby’s defensive shape held firm under late pressure.

Standout players

Hammarby’s goalkeeper produced a string of important saves, including a late stop that protected the lead. The visiting midfield also deserved credit for limiting Malmö’s space between the lines, while the match-winner showed composure to finish under pressure. For Malmö FF, the equalising scorer was their most persistent attacking threat, but the home side will rue missed opportunities in the final twenty minutes.

Season impact

The three points give Hammarby renewed momentum in the race for European qualification and improve their position in the Sweden Allsvenskan table. For Malmö FF, the defeat leaves little room for error in their remaining fixtures, especially with the title race and top-three battle intensifying. The head-to-head result also adds extra significance to the clubs’ recent meetings and underlines how costly small margins can be in Sweden’s top flight.
