Landskrona BoIS vs Sandvikens IF: Five-Goal Superettan Thriller Ends 3-2

Landskrona BoIS claimed a dramatic 3-2 win over Sandvikens IF in the Sweden Superettan on 10 October 2026, turning a tense second-tier contest into a five-goal spectacle at Landskrona IP. The home side twice rebuilt its lead before holding off a late Sandviken surge, a result that carries real weight in the Superettan standings and the race for promotion and playoff places.

Match Overview

Played under the lights at 19:00, the match pitted Landskrona’s high-pressing home style against Sandviken’s direct, wing-focused approach. Landskrona started with intent and forced Sandviken deep inside the opening ten minutes. The visitors, however, grew into the game and showed why they are a dangerous opponent on the counter. With five goals, momentum shifts, and a nervy finish, this was one of the more entertaining Superettan results of the round.

Landskrona’s midfield pressing was the foundation of the win. The home side repeatedly won the ball in advanced areas and attacked with quick combinations, while Sandviken looked most threatening from set pieces and crosses into the box. The scoreline stayed close throughout, but Landskrona’s ability to answer after conceding proved decisive.

Key Moments

• 11' – Landskrona 1-0: Elias Nordström pounced on a loose pass in midfield and drove into the box before finishing low past the goalkeeper.
• 29' – Sandvikens IF 1-1: Viktor Svensson rose highest from a corner and powered a header into the net to bring the visitors level.
• 57' – Landskrona 2-1: Adam Egnell restored the lead with a composed finish after a neat exchange on the edge of the area.
• 74' – Landskrona 3-1: Melker Heier finished off a rapid counterattack, racing clear and slotting the ball beyond the Sandviken keeper.
• 86' – Sandvikens IF 3-2: Jesper Merbom Adolfsson reacted quickest to a scramble in the box and pulled one back, setting up a tense finale.
• 90+3' – Landskrona survive: A last-ditch save and a clearance off the line denied Sandviken an equalizer in stoppage time.

Tactical Story

Landskrona lined up in a flexible 4-3-3 and looked to compress the space between midfield and defense, forcing Sandviken into hurried passes. The home full-backs pushed high, creating overloads on the flanks and allowing the front three to attack the box with numbers. That aggression helped Landskrona create the better chances, but it also left them exposed to Sandviken’s quick transitions.

Sandviken’s best spells came when they bypassed the press with long diagonals and second balls. Their 4-4-2 shape was compact in the middle, and the equalizer came from a well-worked set piece. In the final twenty minutes, Sandviken pushed more bodies forward and nearly salvaged a point, but Landskrona’s defensive resolve held just long enough.

Standout Players

Elias Nordström set the tone for Landskrona with his energy and opening goal. Melker Heier’s late surge and finish gave the home side breathing room, while Adam Egnell’s link-up play caused constant problems. In defense, Landskrona’s goalkeeper made a crucial stoppage-time save that preserved all three points.

For Sandvikens IF, Viktor Svensson was a threat in both boxes, and Jesper Merbom Adolfsson’s late goal rewarded a tireless performance. Their goalkeeper also kept the score respectable with several sharp saves earlier in the match.

Season Impact

The victory strengthens Landskrona BoIS’s position in the Superettan table and keeps the club firmly in the conversation for promotion and the promotion playoffs. For Sandvikens IF, the defeat is a missed opportunity to climb the standings, though the attacking display showed enough to suggest they can pick up points in the coming rounds. In a league where consistency separates contenders from mid-table sides, Landskrona’s ability to win a high-scoring match will be seen as a valuable sign.
