Husqvarna Women strengthened their push at the top end of the Sweden Elitettan with a deserved 3-1 victory over Sandvikens IF Women on 17 October 2026, turning a tight first half into a commanding second-half display at Vapenvallen.

Match overview

The home side set the tone early with an aggressive press and quick switches of play, forcing Sandvikens IF Women into a series of hurried clearances. Husqvarna’s midfield kept the ball moving sharply, while the front line repeatedly attacked the space behind the visiting full-backs. Sandvikens stayed compact and threatened on the break, but they struggled to sustain possession for long spells.

Key moments

• 18' — Husqvarna 1-0: Emma Lindberg opened the scoring with a low finish after a neat exchange on the edge of the box.
• 34' — Husqvarna 1-1: Sandvikens responded through Hanna Persson, who capitalised on a loose ball and beat the goalkeeper from close range.
• 61' — Husqvarna 2-1: Linnea Dahl restored the lead with a composed strike from the left side of the penalty area.
• 78' — Husqvarna 3-1: Sofia Berg sealed the win, finishing off a flowing move that stretched the Sandvikens defence from wing to wing.

Tactical story

Husqvarna’s success came from their intensity without the ball. They pressed high, denied Sandvikens time in central areas and forced mistakes that led to quick counter-attacks. The visitors’ equaliser briefly unsettled the home side, but Husqvarna regained control after half-time by pushing their wingers higher and using the midfield to recycle possession more patiently. Sandvikens defended in numbers but were eventually pulled apart by the home side’s movement and sharper finishing.

Standout players

Linnea Dahl was the engine of Husqvarna’s second-half surge, combining energy with calm decision-making in the final third. Emma Lindberg’s early goal gave the home side belief, while Sofia Berg’s late strike underlined her growing influence in attacking transitions. For Sandvikens, Hanna Persson was the bright spot, taking her goal well and working tirelessly to keep her side in the contest.

Season impact

The three points keep Husqvarna firmly in the promotion conversation and add momentum to a strong late-season run. For Sandvikens IF Women, the defeat leaves them with work to do as they look to finish the campaign with consistency. Husqvarna’s ability to turn a level first half into a clear win will be especially encouraging as the Elitettan table tightens.
