Enköping came from behind to win a pulsating five-goal contest 3-2 away at Sollentuna United in the Sweden Division 1 on Thursday, snatching all three points with a late winner in a match that swung one way and then the other.

The visitors trailed at half-time and were pegged back again midway through the second period, but a decisive goal in the closing stages completed a resilient away performance and left the home side wondering how they had finished empty-handed.

Match Overview

Sollentuna started with real intent, pressing high and forcing Enköping into rushed clearances. The approach was rewarded after a quarter of an hour when a quick exchange on the edge of the box opened up a shooting lane and the opener was drilled into the bottom corner. The home crowd sensed a comfortable evening ahead.

Enköping, however, responded well. They gradually stabilised their midfield, began winning second balls and equalised before the break with a header from a deep cross that the Sollentuna defence failed to deal with. Going in level at half-time felt like a fair reflection of a breathless opening 45 minutes.

The second half produced more of the same. Enköping took the lead for the first time early in the period, Sollentuna levelled with a well-taken set-piece, and the game appeared destined for a draw until Enköping found one final moment of quality in the closing minutes.

Key Moments

• 14' — Sollentuna open the scoring with a low finish after a slick passing move.
• 29' — Enköping equalise from a deep cross, headed in at the back post.
• 51' — Enköping take the lead for the first time, finishing off a rapid counter-attack.
• 68' — Sollentuna level at 2-2 from a set-piece, sparking the loudest noise of the night.
• 85' — Enköping score the winner, converting a cut-back from the byline.

Tactical Story

Sollentuna's high press was effective in the first half but costly after the interval. As legs tired, the spaces behind their full-backs grew larger, and Enköping's willingness to attack those areas directly proved decisive. The visitors' decision to switch to a more vertical approach after the break changed the rhythm of the game entirely.

Set-pieces were a recurring theme. Both teams looked dangerous from dead balls, and Sollentuna's equaliser came from a delivery the Enköping back line failed to clear properly. In the end, though, it was Enköping's open-play transitions that decided the match.

Standout Players

Enköping's attacking midfielder was the game's most influential figure, involved in two of the three goals and constantly finding pockets of space between the lines. Their winger, who provided the assist for the winner, was a threat every time he ran at his marker.

For Sollentuna, the striker who opened the scoring worked relentlessly and held the ball up well, while their centre-back produced several important interventions before the late collapse. It was a performance with plenty of promise but a painful conclusion.

What It Means for the Table

The win gives Enköping a welcome boost in the Ettan Norra standings and reinforces their reputation as a side capable of grinding out results on the road. For Sollentuna United, the defeat is a blow to their home record and a reminder that games in this division are rarely decided until the final whistle.

Both clubs will now turn their attention to the next round, with Enköping looking to build momentum and Sollentuna desperate to stop conceding goals in the closing stages.
