FC Rosengard 2-1 Hassleholms IF — Sweden Division 1 — September 26, 2026

FC Rosengard edged a hard-fought 2-1 win over Hassleholms IF in Sweden Division 1 on Saturday evening, maintaining their push for promotion with a determined display at Rosengard's home ground. The hosts led 2-0 before a late Hassleholms penalty set up a nervy finish.

Match Overview

Rosengard began the match as firm favourites and took the lead in the 31st minute with a well-worked goal. A quick one-two on the edge of the box opened up space, and the attacking midfielder curled a shot into the top corner. Hassleholms responded with spirit, pressing higher and forcing a couple of half-chances, but Rosengard's defence held firm.

The second goal arrived in the 59th minute. A driving run from midfield drew two defenders, and the ball was squared for the striker to tap in from six yards. At 2-0, the game looked settled. But Hassleholms refused to lie down. They won a penalty in the 78th minute when a forward was brought down inside the box, and the spot-kick was converted confidently to set up a tense finale.

Key Moments

• 31' — FC Rosengard take the lead with a curling effort from the edge of the box.
• 59' — A tap-in doubles the lead after a driving run from midfield.
• 78' — Hassleholms IF pull one back from the penalty spot.
• 90+4' — Rosengard clear a last-ditch corner to secure the win.

The final 12 minutes were anxious for the home supporters. Hassleholms pushed bodies forward and launched several crosses into the box. Rosengard's goalkeeper made a smart save in the 86th minute, and a goalmouth scramble in stoppage time ended with the ball being hacked clear. The referee's final whistle brought relief more than celebration.

Tactical Story

Rosengard controlled the first hour with patient possession and clever movement between the lines. Their midfield trio dominated the ball, and the full-backs provided width. Hassleholms sat deep initially, looking to counter, but after conceding twice they changed approach and pressed higher. That shift forced Rosengard into some hurried clearances, and the penalty gave the visitors a lifeline. In the end, Rosengard's game management in the closing stages was just enough.

Standout Players

Rosengard's attacking midfielder was the best player on the pitch, scoring the opener and driving forward throughout. The striker's movement and finish for the second goal were also impressive. For Hassleholms, the goalscorer from the penalty spot showed composure, and the goalkeeper made several saves to keep the score down.

Sweden Division 1 Table Impact

The win keeps FC Rosengard in contention for promotion, maintaining pressure on the teams above them. Hassleholms IF remain in mid-table, having shown enough fight to suggest they will be safe from relegation trouble. For Rosengard, however, every point is crucial in what promises to be a tight race at the top of Sweden Division 1.
