FBK Karlstad and A.F.C Eskilstuna played out a thrilling 2-2 draw in Sweden Division 1 on Saturday, October 3, 2026. At Färjestadsvallen, Eskilstuna twice took the lead, but FBK Karlstad found a stoppage-time equaliser to salvage a point in a match that had chances, momentum swings, and late drama.

Match overview

A.F.C Eskilstuna started brightly and took the lead in the 14th minute when Dennis Olsson finished off a quick move down the right. FBK Karlstad responded well and equalised in the 39th minute through Oscar Lindberg, who arrived late in the box to convert a cut-back. The first half ended level, but Eskilstuna regained the advantage in the 67th minute when Adnan Catic curled a fine effort into the bottom corner.

FBK Karlstad pushed numbers forward in the final 20 minutes and finally found a breakthrough in the third minute of stoppage time. Key moments

• 14th minute: Dennis Olsson gives A.F.C Eskilstuna the lead with a composed finish.
• 39th minute: Oscar Lindberg equalises for FBK Karlstad after a well-worked move.

Tactical story

Eskilstuna looked dangerous whenever they attacked with pace, especially in transition. Their midfield won the ball high and released the front three quickly, which led to both of their goals. FBK Karlstad, by contrast, built more patiently and relied on overlapping full-backs to create crossing opportunities. That approach eventually paid off with their late equaliser.

The game became stretched in the final half-hour as Eskilstuna tried to protect their lead and FBK committed more players forward. The hosts' persistence was rewarded when a goalmouth scramble fell kindly for Nilsson. It was a reminder of how fine the margins can be in Sweden Division 1, where points are often decided by set pieces and second balls in the closing stages.

Standout players

Viktor Nilsson was the hero for FBK Karlstad with the last-gasp equaliser, while Oscar Lindberg was a constant threat from midfield. For A.F.C Eskilstuna, Dennis Olsson and Adnan Catic both took their goals well, and the visitors will feel they did enough to win. However, their inability to see out the closing minutes cost them two valuable points.

Table impact and next fixtures

The draw keeps both clubs in the middle section of the Sweden Division 1 standings, though Eskilstuna will view it as a missed opportunity to close the gap on the teams above them. FBK Karlstad will take confidence from their fighting spirit and late response. With the season moving toward its decisive weeks, both sides know that consistency will be key if they are to achieve their goals.
