Tactical Story

FC Trollhattan set up in a 5-3-2 formation, prioritising defensive solidity and quick transitions. The wing-backs worked tirelessly, and the front two of Erik Lundqvist and Oscar Berg combined well on the counter. Mjallby AIF, using a 4-2-3-1, dominated the ball but found it difficult to penetrate a packed penalty area.

The key to Trollhattan’s success was their discipline. They conceded possession in safe areas and forced Mjallby into crosses, which the centre-backs dealt with effectively. When Mjallby did find a way through, Johansson was there. It was a classic cup performance: organised, brave and clinical when the one big chance arrived.

Standout Players

Erik Lundqvist will take the headlines for his match-winning goal, but goalkeeper Andreas Johansson was equally important with a series of saves. Marcus Svensson’s late clearance summed up the defensive effort, while Oscar Berg’s assist highlighted his vision on the break. For Mjallby AIF, midfielder Viktor Gustafsson kept probing, but the higher-ranked side lacked a finishing touch.
