Slovan Bratislava Women delivered a statement performance in the SVK WD1, beating Spartak Trnava Women 5-2 away from home on 18 October 2026. The visitors combined ruthless finishing with quick transitions to turn a competitive derby into a convincing victory.

Match overview

Slovan Bratislava Women started brightly and took the lead early with a well-worked move down the left. Spartak Trnava Women responded positively and equalised midway through the first half, briefly raising hopes of a tight contest. However, Slovan regained control before the break with two goals in quick succession, exposing space behind Trnava’s high defensive line and showing greater composure in front of goal.

Trnava pulled one back early in the second half to make it 3-2 and created a tense spell, but Slovan weathered the pressure and then pulled away again. Two late goals completed the scoring and gave the scoreline a fair reflection of the visitors’ attacking quality. Trnava kept pushing until the final whistle, but Slovan’s midfield controlled the closing stages and limited clear chances.

Key moments

• Early opener: Slovan struck first after a fluent move opened space on the left side of the box.
• Trnava equaliser: The hosts responded with a determined attack and a confident finish to make it 1-1.
• Quick double: Slovan scored twice before half-time, punishing Trnava’s high line with fast breaks.
• Second-half lifeline: Trnava reduced the deficit to 3-2 early in the second period.
• Late finish: Slovan added two more goals in the final quarter to seal a 5-2 win.

Tactical story

Slovan Bratislava Women were aggressive in their pressing and consistently looked to attack the space behind Trnava’s defence. Their wide players stretched the pitch, creating room for central runners, while the midfield won most of the loose balls in the middle third. Trnava’s high line was effective at times when they won the ball high, but it left them exposed whenever Slovan broke quickly. The hosts also struggled to contain Slovan’s movement in the final third, especially when the visitors switched play from one side to the other. Trnava’s second-half response showed character, but Slovan’s superior finishing decided the match.

Standout performers and table impact

Slovan’s attacking unit was the difference, with sharp movement and clinical finishing throughout the match. The midfield also deserves credit for controlling the tempo after Trnava briefly threatened a comeback. For Spartak Trnava Women, the equaliser and the early second-half goal were positive moments, but defensive gaps proved costly. The result strengthens Slovan Bratislava Women’s position in the SVK WD1 standings and sends a clear message about their title credentials, while Trnava will need to tighten their defensive shape in the coming weeks.
