Spartak Trnava Women edged FC Tatran Presov Women 2-1 in their SVK WD1 fixture on 24 October 2026, producing a composed home performance that delivered three important points in the Slovak Women’s First League.

The match was decided by fine margins. Trnava enjoyed the better share of possession and created the clearer chances, but Presov remained dangerous on the counter and ensured the contest stayed open until the final whistle. The 2-1 scoreline reflected a competitive game in which both teams contributed to an entertaining league encounter.

Match overview

Spartak Trnava Women started with purpose, pushing their full-backs high and looking to stretch the Presov defensive line. That early pressure produced the opening goal, as Trnava worked the ball into a dangerous area and finished with composure. Presov responded well, tightening their midfield shape and finding more joy through quick transitions.

The visitors equalised before the break, capitalising on a moment of hesitation in the Trnava defence and converting with a calm finish. That goal changed the mood of the game and gave Presov confidence, but Trnava regrouped after half-time and gradually reasserted control.

Key moments

• Opening goal: Trnava’s patient build-up created the first breakthrough, rewarding their early dominance.
• Presov response: The away side equalised with a sharp counter-attack, exposing space behind Trnava’s advanced full-backs.
• Decisive spell: Trnava increased the tempo after the interval and found the winning goal during a sustained period of pressure.
• Late resistance: Presov pushed forward in search of a second equaliser, but Trnava defended their box well in the closing stages.

Tactical story

Trnava’s approach was built around width and midfield rotation. By keeping the ball moving quickly, they forced Presov to defend laterally and created gaps between the visitors’ midfield and defensive lines. The home side’s pressing also prevented Presov from settling into a comfortable rhythm for long spells.

Presov, meanwhile, looked most threatening when they won the ball in transition. Their equaliser came from exactly that pattern, and they continued to carry a threat on the break. However, Trnava’s ability to adjust their shape in the second half limited those opportunities and allowed the hosts to finish the stronger team.

Standout performers

Trnava’s central midfielders were influential throughout, linking defence and attack and keeping the team calm after Presov’s equaliser. The home goalkeeper also produced a key save at 1-1, preserving parity before the winning goal arrived. For Presov, the wide attackers worked tirelessly and caused problems with direct running, while their midfielders competed well in the middle third.

Season impact

The win gives Spartak Trnava Women valuable momentum in the SVK WD1 standings and reinforces their competitiveness in the Slovak Women’s First League. For FC Tatran Presov Women, the performance offered encouragement despite the defeat, but the result leaves them empty-handed from a match in which they remained competitive for long periods.

With the league campaign continuing, both sides will take lessons from this fixture. Trnava will focus on turning spells of control into more comfortable scorelines, while Presov will look to convert their counter-attacking promise into points.
