Zilina and Kosice Share Eight Goals in Sensational Slovak Nike Liga Draw

Zilina, Slovakia — July 26, 2026 — MSK Zilina and FK Kosice played out one of the most entertaining matches of the Slovak Nike Liga season, battling to a 4-4 draw at Stadion pod Dubnom. Goals and drama were in plentiful supply as both sides threw caution to the wind.

Kosice struck first in the 8th minute through a deflected shot from Erik Paska. Zilina responded quickly, equalising in the 15th minute when midfielder Patrik Myslovič fired home from the edge of the box. Within three minutes, the hosts had turned the game around: striker Vahan Bichakhchyan tapped in a rebound to make it 2-1.

The match opened up further as Kosice equalised again two minutes later through a stunning volley from Marek Hlinka. The first half ended with Zilina retaking the lead in the 42nd minute, Bichakhchyan grabbing his second with a close‑range header. That made it 3-2 at the break.

After the restart, Kosice came out strongly. In the 55th minute, substitute Samuel Žbirka levelled the scores at 3-3 with a looping header. The visitors then took the lead for the first time in the 70th minute when Adam Zreľák finished off a counterattack to make it 4-3 to Kosice.

However, Zilina refused to give up. Deep into stoppage time, a desperate long ball into the Kosice box was headed on to defender Kristian Vallo, who poked the ball home at the back post to snatch a dramatic 4-4 draw in the 94th minute.

The result leaves Zilina in sixth place, while Kosice sit ninth in a tightly packed Slovak table. The match was a reminder of the unpredictable, high‑scoring nature of the competition.
