Two goals apiece and no way to separate them — TJ Družstevník Veľké Ludince and FK Belusa played out a 2-2 draw in the Slovak 3. Liga that delivered drama right to the final whistle. It was a match of contrasting styles, with the hosts' direct approach meeting a Belusa side happy to be patient and strike on the break.

Hosts take the initiative

Playing at home, TJ Družstevník Veľké Ludince began with real purpose, pressing their visitors deep into their own half and forcing a string of early corners. That pressure eventually told as the home side took the lead, the goal greeted with noisy approval from the local supporters who had turned out for the evening kick-off.

Belusa responded in the best possible way. Rather than panicking, they slowed the game down, kept possession more carefully and waited for their moment. It arrived before the break, a well-taken equaliser that changed the mood of the contest entirely.

A second half full of swings

The hosts regained the advantage after the interval, and for a while it looked as if the three points would stay at home. Their midfield won the physical battles and their front players held the ball up effectively, allowing the team to play higher up the pitch.

But Belusa's persistence paid off once more. A late surge brought the second equaliser, and the closing stages became a frantic search for a winner at both ends. Neither side could find it, and the points were shared.

Key moments

• Opening goal (Veľké Ludince): Sustained home pressure converted into the first goal of the night.
• Equaliser (Belusa): A patient build-up and a well-placed finish levelled the scores before half-time.
• Second goal (Veľké Ludince): The hosts restored their lead early in the second period.
• Second equaliser (Belusa): A determined late push brought the visitors back on terms.
• Final minutes: Both teams pushed for a winner but were forced to settle for a draw.

Tactical story

Veľké Ludince's plan was built on intensity: win the ball high, deliver early, and use the crowd to sustain momentum. It worked for long stretches, but their inability to hold a lead twice over suggests a need for better game management in the closing phases.

Belusa, by contrast, showed admirable composure. Their ability to respond after conceding — twice — speaks to a squad with genuine character. In the Slovak 3. Liga, where travel is long and pitches vary enormously, that kind of resilience is worth its weight in points.

Standout performers

The home side's attacking contingent caused constant problems with their movement in the final third, while their captain drove the team forward from midfield. For Belusa, the wide players were a constant outlet, stretching the Veľké Ludince defence and creating the space that led to both goals.

What the draw means

Both clubs leave with a point and a sense that more was available. For Veľké Ludince, dropping a lead twice at home is a frustration that will linger, though the attacking display offered plenty of encouragement. Belusa can be pleased with their resilience on the road and the manner in which they twice fought back.

With the Slovak 3. Liga table still taking shape, results like this one underline how competitive the division is — and how important it is to convert dominance into victories.
