Slovan Bratislava B 2-2 Tatran Prešov: Honours Shared in Four-Goal Thriller

Slovan Bratislava B and Tatran Prešov played out an entertaining 2-2 draw in the Slovak 2. Liga on Sunday, 27 September 2026, with both sides twice finding the net in a match that showcased the attacking talent in the division.

The game kicked off at 16:30 and quickly developed into an open, end-to-end contest. Slovan Bratislava B, fielding a young and energetic side, took the game to their more experienced opponents, while Tatran Prešov responded with spells of controlled possession and sharp counter-attacking.

Match Overview

The hosts opened the scoring in the first half with a well-taken goal following a patient build-up. A neat exchange on the edge of the box released a runner into space, and the finish was dispatched with confidence. Tatran Prešov responded well, though, and equalised before the interval with a set-piece routine that caught the Slovan defence flat-footed.

Early in the second half, Slovan Bratislava B restored their lead. A driving run from midfield forced a defensive error, and the loose ball was pounced upon and converted from close range. But Tatran Prešov refused to lie down, and their persistence paid off with a late equaliser that silenced the home crowd and ensured a share of the spoils.

Tactical Story

Slovan Bratislava B played with the fearlessness typical of a reserve side, pressing high and committing bodies forward whenever possible. Their midfield trio was excellent at winning the ball back quickly, but that aggression sometimes left them exposed to Tatran Prešov's quick breaks.

Tatran Prešov, meanwhile, looked comfortable in possession and repeatedly targeted the space behind the Slovan full-backs. Their equalisers came from two very different sources – a set piece and a counter – which underlined their versatility and their ability to adapt within the game.

Standout Players

Slovan Bratislava B's attacking midfielder was the standout performer of the first half, dictating play and creating several chances. Their striker also impressed with his movement and link-up play. For Tatran Prešov, the goalkeeper's double save at 2-1 kept them within touching distance, while the captain led by example in midfield and provided the assist for the late equaliser.

Season Impact

The draw is a result that both teams will view with mixed emotions. Slovan Bratislava B will be disappointed to have surrendered a lead twice, but the performance of their young players offers plenty of encouragement for the months ahead. Tatran Prešov, meanwhile, showed the character needed for a promotion push by fighting back on two occasions. Both sides remain firmly in the mix in the Slovak 2. Liga standings as the season gathers pace.
