OK Častkovce Edge Veľké Ludince 1-0 in Slovak 3.Liga

OK Častkovce claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over TJ Družstevník Veľké Ludince in Slovak 3.Liga on 17 October 2026, with a single second-half goal settling a tightly contested match. The home side produced a controlled performance at OK Častkovce, combining patience in possession with a disciplined defensive display to secure all three points. In a league where away fixtures are rarely comfortable, the result gives Častkovce an important boost and leaves Veľké Ludince with little reward for a compact and organized effort.

Match overview

The contest was decided by fine margins. Častkovce saw more of the ball in the opening hour, but Veľké Ludince defended in a deep and narrow shape, limiting space between the lines and forcing the hosts to work patiently around the penalty area. Clear chances were scarce early on, and the visitors looked capable of frustrating the home side while threatening on the break. The decisive moment arrived after the interval, when Častkovce finally found a way through with a well-worked attacking move. From there, the hosts managed the game maturely, keeping their shape and protecting the lead under late pressure.

Key moments

Častkovce’s best early opportunity came from a corner, but a header was directed too close to the goalkeeper. Veľké Ludince responded with a shot from distance that forced a save, signalling that they would not sit back entirely. The breakthrough came in the 63rd minute when Adam Ružička finished from close range after a low delivery from the right flank. The visitors pushed forward in search of an equalizer, and Častkovce goalkeeper Marek Horváth made an important stop with just over ten minutes remaining. A last-ditch defensive block in the closing stages preserved the clean sheet and the win.

Tactical story

Častkovce lined up with a patient 4-2-3-1 shape, using their full-backs to stretch the opposition and creating overloads in wide areas. The midfield double pivot helped recycle possession and prevented Veľké Ludince from building sustained counterattacks. The visitors, meanwhile, operated with a compact 4-4-2 block, looking to win the ball in midfield and move forward quickly through direct passes. That approach kept them in the game for long periods, but the hosts’ greater control in the final third eventually told. Once ahead, Častkovce dropped a little deeper without becoming passive, closing central spaces and forcing the away side wide.

Standout performers

Ružička will take the headlines for the match-winning goal, but Horváth’s save late in the second half was equally important. The goalkeeper handled crosses confidently and gave his defence a steady presence. In front of him, the centre-back pairing dealt well with aerial balls and late pressure. For Veľké Ludince, the midfield unit worked tirelessly to deny space, while their goalkeeper kept the scoreline respectable with several solid stops. The away side’s defensive discipline was evident, even if they lacked the final cutting edge needed to take a point.

Season impact

The three points strengthen OK Častkovce’s position in the Slovak 3.Liga table and give the team momentum ahead of their next fixture. A clean sheet will be particularly pleasing, as it confirms the defensive organization that has been central to their recent performances. For TJ Družstevník Veľké Ludince, the defeat is a frustrating one after a disciplined display, but the performance offers encouragement. The visitors showed they can compete away from home and will now focus on turning narrow losses into positive results in the coming weeks.
