FTC Filakovo 3–1 Novohrad Lucenec: Home Side Cruises to Victory

FTC Filakovo delivered a confident performance to defeat Novohrad Lucenec 3–1 in the Slovak 3.Liga on Saturday evening. The home side controlled large spells of the match and secured a well-deserved three points.

The opening goal came in the 19th minute. A flowing move down the left flank ended with a low cross that was turned in at the near post. Filakovo doubled their lead just before the break, a powerful strike from 20 yards that left the Lucenec goalkeeper with no chance.

Novohrad Lucenec came out fighting in the second half and pulled one back ten minutes after the restart. A corner was headed home to give the visitors hope. However, any thoughts of a comeback were short-lived. Filakovo restored their two-goal cushion in the 68th minute with a well-placed finish from a counter-attack.

The home side comfortably saw out the remainder of the match, controlling possession and creating further chances that they failed to convert.
