Tactical story

Fomat Martin lined up with an energetic high-pressing system, looking to win the ball in the opponent's half and attack quickly. That approach created the opening goal and kept Novohrad Lucenec under pressure for long spells. However, the home side's defensive line was sometimes exposed when the press was bypassed, and that weakness led to the equaliser.

Novohrad Lucenec grew into the game after scoring and looked the more likely side to score next for a period. They used their wingers effectively and delivered several dangerous crosses. Fomat Martin responded by tightening their midfield and making attacking substitutions, one of which contributed to the late winner. The winning goal was a reward for their persistence rather than pure control, but it was no less valuable.

Standout performers

Fomat Martin's central midfielder was the engine of the team, winning tackles and driving forward with purpose. The winning goalscorer also made a big impact from the bench, showing sharp movement inside the box. For Novohrad Lucenec, their goalkeeper kept them in the match with several important saves, while their captain in midfield dictated play during their best spell of the second half.

Season impact in the Slovak 3.Liga

The three points strengthen Fomat Martin's position in the Slovak 3.Liga and give them momentum heading into their next fixture. Novohrad Lucenec will feel they deserved something from the game, especially after equalising and creating chances of their own. In a division where consistency is often the difference between promotion contention and mid-table, this late win could prove an important moment in Fomat Martin's season.

The match also underlined the importance of squad depth: the home side's substitutes changed the tempo in the final 20 minutes, and the winning goal came from exactly that injection of energy. Novohrad Lucenec must now regroup and turn promising away performances into points.
