Racing Club Lausanne 4-0 Saviese

Racing Club Lausanne delivered an emphatic 4-0 victory over Saviese in the SUI D4 on Sunday, 25 October 2026, combining clinical attacking play with a composed defensive performance. The 22:00 fixture was one of the more one-sided contests of the round, as Racing controlled possession, created chances regularly and never allowed Saviese to settle into a comfortable rhythm.

Racing take control from the start

The home side began with intent, pressing Saviese in their own half and moving the ball quickly through midfield. Saviese tried to defend in a compact block, but Racing's movement and use of width repeatedly opened gaps. The early pressure soon produced the opening goal, and from that point the match was played largely on Racing's terms.

• 8th minute: Racing Club Lausanne took the lead with a composed finish after a flowing attacking move.
• 38th minute: The advantage was doubled before half-time, giving the hosts a comfortable cushion.
• 63rd minute: A third goal early in the second half ended any realistic hope of a Saviese comeback.
• 81st minute: Racing added a fourth to complete a dominant scoreline.

The goals were spread across the match, which underlined Racing's ability to sustain pressure rather than rely on a single burst. Saviese had brief moments of resistance and tried to threaten on the counter, but the visiting side struggled to keep possession long enough to relieve the pressure on their defence.

Tactical story: midfield control and attacking width

Racing Club Lausanne won the midfield battle convincingly. Their central players were quick to win second balls, and the full-backs pushed high to provide extra options in wide areas. That width stretched the Saviese back line, creating room for midfield runners and allowing Racing to attack from multiple angles.

Saviese defended deep for much of the game, but their clearances too often came straight back. When they did win the ball, the transition was not sharp enough to trouble the Racing defence consistently. The home goalkeeper had a relatively quiet evening, protected by a back line that stayed focused even after the game was effectively decided. The clean sheet was a fitting reward for Racing's control.

What the win means in SUI D4

The three points strengthen Racing Club Lausanne's position in the SUI D4 table and provide a significant boost to their goal difference. A 4-0 home win is the kind of result that can build belief and serve as a statement to rivals in a promotion race, especially when it is accompanied by a shutout. Racing will be pleased with the spread of goals and the manner in which they managed the game after taking the lead.

For Saviese, the defeat is a heavy one, but it also offers clear lessons. They will need to defend more aggressively in wide areas, avoid losing the midfield battle so easily and find a way to keep the ball for longer spells. Against a team as organised as Racing, those details made the difference.

Overall, Racing Club Lausanne's 4-0 victory was a complete team performance: early pressure, clinical finishing and defensive discipline. It was a result that reflected the balance of play from the first whistle to the last.
