Xerez Deportivo FC Win 3-2 Thriller Against Chiclana

Xerez Deportivo FC edged Chiclana 3-2 in a pulsating Spanish Tercera División RFEF encounter on October 25, 2026. Five goals, momentum swings, and late drama made this one of the most entertaining matches of the round, with Xerez Deportivo eventually holding on for a crucial home victory.

The hosts began brightly and took the game to Chiclana from the first whistle. Their early pressure was rewarded when a well-constructed attack opened the scoring. Xerez Deportivo doubled their lead soon after, capitalizing on a defensive mistake to make it 2-0. Chiclana, however, refused to fold and pulled one back before halftime with a confident finish following a quick counterattack.

Key Moments

Chiclana carried their momentum into the second half and equalized through a set piece, silencing the home crowd. The match appeared to be heading toward a draw, but Xerez Deportivo found a late winner after sustained pressure and a scramble in the penalty area. The goal sparked wild celebrations and left Chiclana with no time to respond.

• Early breakthrough: Xerez Deportivo took the lead with a composed finish.
• Two-goal cushion: A defensive error allowed the hosts to double their advantage.
• Chiclana comeback: The visitors scored before and after halftime to level at 2-2.
• Late winner: Xerez Deportivo struck in the closing stages to seal all three points.

Tactical Story

Xerez Deportivo’s attacking intent was clear from the outset, with their midfield pushing high and full-backs providing width. Chiclana adjusted after going two goals down, switching to a more direct approach and pressing higher. That change disrupted Xerez Deportivo’s rhythm and brought the visitors back into the contest. In the end, the hosts’ greater urgency in the final minutes made the difference.

Standout Performers

Xerez Deportivo’s attacking players caused problems throughout, particularly in the first half when their movement and link-up play stretched Chiclana’s defense. The match-winner showed composure under pressure, while the goalkeeper made a vital save at 2-2. Chiclana’s midfielder was their driving force, and their striker took his goal well.

Season Impact

The 3-2 victory gives Xerez Deportivo an important three points in the Spanish Tercera División RFEF standings and boosts confidence after a tense contest. Chiclana will be frustrated to leave empty-handed after a brave comeback, but their second-half display offers encouragement for future fixtures. For Xerez Deportivo, the focus will be on tightening a defense that conceded twice at home.
