Xerez Deportivo FC 1-0 Bollullos CF was decided by a single, well-crafted goal, as the hosts ground out a narrow win in the Spanish Tercera División RFEF in front of their own supporters.

A Tight Contest Settled by One Moment

In the Tercera División RFEF, where points are hard-earned and defences are well organised, matches frequently come down to whoever blinks first. This was precisely that kind of fixture. Xerez Deportivo FC controlled long spells of possession and probed patiently for openings, while Bollullos CF kept their shape, defended in numbers and looked to strike on the break.

The breakthrough, when it arrived, was the reward for persistence rather than dominance. The home side's willingness to keep working the ball into promising areas eventually told, and from that point the emphasis shifted to concentration and discipline.

How the Match Unfolded

• Early control: Xerez Deportivo dictated the tempo, moving the ball quickly through midfield and forcing Bollullos into deep defensive positions.
• The decisive goal: A well-worked attacking move unlocked the defence and produced the only goal of the game.
• Protecting the lead: Rather than chasing a second, the hosts managed the game intelligently, tightening up in midfield and limiting space in behind.
• Late pressure: Bollullos pushed forward in the final stages and forced a handful of set pieces, but the home back line held firm.

Tactical Reading

Xerez Deportivo's approach was built on patience. By recycling possession and committing full-backs forward selectively, they stretched the Bollullos defensive block without ever leaving themselves badly exposed. The visitors, by contrast, were compact and disciplined, and their inability to convert their late pressure into an equaliser came down to a lack of quality in the final pass rather than any shortage of effort.

Clean sheets are currency in this division, and the home side's defensive organisation was every bit as important as their finishing. That kind of controlled, professional performance is exactly what builds promotion momentum over a long campaign.

Standings Impact

Taking all three points at home is the foundation of any successful season in the Tercera División RFEF, where the table is often compressed and away form decides final placements. This victory gives Xerez Deportivo FC valuable momentum and reinforces their home record, while Bollullos CF will take heart from a disciplined away display that kept them competitive until the very last whistle.

For Bollullos, the lesson is familiar: in matches decided by a single goal, the smallest details — a misplaced clearance, a lost runner at a set piece, a moment of hesitation — carry enormous weight. For Xerez Deportivo, the win is proof that their patient, structured football can grind out results even when the goals are not flowing.
