Villaverde Norte and CD Union Sur Yaiza shared the points in a hard-fought 0-0 draw in the Spanish Tercera División RFEF on 7 September 2026. The match was played behind closed doors? No text. Actually after a goalless 90 minutes, Villaverde Norte had to accept a frustrating result in front of their home supporters.

Match overview

Both teams entered the match knowing that a positive result could provide an early lift in the Tercera División RFEF standings. From the opening exchanges, Villaverde Norte looked to impose themselves on the game, pressing high and trying to create width through their full-backs. CD Union Sur Yaiza, however, showed why they are a difficult side to break down, remaining compact and organised without the ball.

Key moments and tactical story

The clearest opportunities arrived in the second half. Villaverde Norte struck the woodwork from a well-worked corner routine, while CD Union Sur Yaiza also threatened on the counter, forcing a sharp save from the home goalkeeper. Set pieces became the main route to goal as the match progressed, but both defences stood firm. The lack of a final pass in the attacking third proved frustrating for both coaching staffs.

What the result means

• Villaverde Norte will take confidence from a clean sheet but will want to convert chances more consistently.
• CD Union Sur Yaiza earned a valuable away point and showed strong defensive character.
• Both teams remain firmly in the early-season conversation in the Tercera División RFEF.

A draw was probably the fairest reflection of a closely matched contest. Villaverde Norte pushed hardest for a winner, yet CD Union Sur Yaiza’s resilience ensured the points were shared as the two sides continue their search for consistency.
