Silva SD claimed a narrow but deserved 2-1 victory over CD Estradense in the Spanish Tercera División RFEF on Sunday, using a late goal to settle a competitive match. The home side showed greater urgency in the final third and were rewarded with three important points. Estradense, who had fought back to level the score, were left frustrated after conceding in the closing stages.

Match overview

The match began with both teams looking to impose themselves early. Silva SD were the more proactive side, pressing forward through the wide areas and testing the Estradense back line with crosses into the box. CD Estradense sat deeper and looked to counter, using quick transitions to relieve pressure. The first half was tight but not short of incident, and Silva’s willingness to shoot from the edge of the area created the breakthrough. After the interval, the game opened up, producing an equalizer and a dramatic finish.

Key moments

Silva SD took the lead in the 23rd minute after a patient passing move ended with a low strike from just inside the penalty area. Estradense responded well and forced a couple of saves before the break, but they could not find an immediate answer. The equalizer arrived in the 54th minute when Estradense capitalized on a defensive lapse and finished calmly from close range. For a while, the visitors looked the more likely side to score next. However, Silva regained control in the final 20 minutes and found the winner in the 81st minute, with a well-timed run into the box and a composed finish past the goalkeeper.

Tactical story

Silva SD’s approach relied on width and quick combinations. Their full-backs pushed high, allowing the wingers to drift inside and create numerical advantages around the penalty area. Estradense defended in a compact block and tried to spring forward on the break, which worked well for long spells after halftime. The key difference came in the final third: Silva were more clinical when chances arrived, while Estradense struggled to create a clear second opportunity after their equalizer. Silva’s substitutes also made an impact, adding energy and helping the home side finish the match strongly.

Standout performers

The Silva SD winger was a constant threat, beating his marker on several occasions and playing a role in the winning goal. Their central midfielder controlled the tempo well, especially in the final quarter of the match. Estradense’s goalkeeper kept his team in contention with a string of saves, while their forward line showed good movement on the counter. In the end, Silva’s greater attacking depth and ability to sustain pressure proved decisive.

Season impact

This 2-1 result is significant in a Tercera División RFEF campaign where every point can shape the playoff picture. Silva SD keep themselves in the conversation near the top of the group, while CD Estradense miss an opportunity to gain ground on the teams above them. For Estradense, the performance offered positives, but the late concession highlighted the need for greater concentration in the closing minutes of tight away matches.

Silva SD will take confidence from the victory and the manner in which they responded after being pegged back. Estradense, meanwhile, must turn a competitive display into points in their next outing.
