Sevilla C edged past CD San Roque de Lepe by a 2-1 scoreline in an entertaining Spanish Tercera División RFEF encounter on 20 September 2026, coming out on top in a match that kept supporters on edge until the final whistle. The reserve side of the renowned Sevilla academy showed both attacking quality and the resilience required to protect a narrow lead.

Match Overview

Contests involving Sevilla C are always watched with interest, given the club's reputation for producing technically accomplished young footballers, and this fixture was no exception. San Roque de Lepe arrived with ambitions of their own, and for long stretches they made life difficult for their hosts, refusing to allow the game to slip away and responding well to going behind.

Key Moments

Sevilla C struck first after building patiently through midfield and finding space in behind the visitors' defence. San Roque responded with a spell of pressure of their own and duly pulled a goal back to set up a tense finish. Just when the game looked set for a share of the spoils, Sevilla C rediscovered their attacking rhythm and struck the decisive blow, restoring their advantage and ultimately holding on for all three points.

Tactical Story

Sevilla C's game was built on quick combinations and purposeful movement, particularly in wide areas where they looked to isolate defenders and deliver into the box. San Roque de Lepe defended in a compact mid-block and sought to counter quickly when turnovers occurred, a plan that worked well enough to earn them a goal. In the end, though, the home side's greater quality in the final third tipped the balance.

What It Means

• Sevilla C: Three points that reflect the educational value of competitive senior football for the club's emerging talent, with the win built on both flair and composure.
• CD San Roque de Lepe: A narrow defeat that contained genuine positives, particularly their response to conceding and their willingness to attack.
• Match quality: Three goals, momentum swings, and a late decisive moment made this one of the more watchable fixtures of the round.

For Sevilla C, results like this help bridge the gap between academy football and the demands of senior competition. San Roque de Lepe will take encouragement from their performance but will be frustrated to have left empty-handed after pushing a strong opponent so close.
