SD San Ignacio 5-0 Aurrera de Vitoria: Ruthless San Ignacio Run Riot in Tercera División RFEF

SD San Ignacio delivered one of the most emphatic results of the Tercera División RFEF round, thrashing Aurrera de Vitoria 5-0 in a one-sided contest. The home side were sharper in every department, scoring at regular intervals and never allowing Aurrera to settle into the match.

The scoreline reflected San Ignacio’s dominance in possession, their intensity without the ball and their clinical finishing. Aurrera de Vitoria struggled to cope with the pace of the game and were punished repeatedly for giving the ball away in dangerous areas.

Match overview

San Ignacio set the tone early, pressing high and forcing Aurrera into hurried passes. The opening goal arrived inside the first quarter of an hour, and from that point the home side controlled the match. They doubled the lead before half-time with a well-worked move, leaving Aurrera with a mountain to climb.

The second half was even more one-sided. San Ignacio scored three more goals, including a penalty and a header from a corner, as Aurrera’s resistance faded. The home side managed the game well after the fifth goal, keeping possession and protecting a clean sheet that capped a complete performance.

• 34th minute: A flowing move down the right ended with a composed finish at the far post.
• 51st minute: The third goal came from a set piece, with a powerful header from a corner.

Tactical story

San Ignacio’s high press was the foundation of the win. They denied Aurrera time on the ball, forced errors in midfield and attacked the spaces vacated by the visitors’ defence. Their wide players stretched the pitch, while the midfielders arrived late in the box to support the centre-forward.

Aurrera de Vitoria tried to defend in a deep block, but they could not keep out the waves of attacks. When they did win possession, their passes were often rushed, and San Ignacio quickly turned the ball back into pressure. It was a difficult afternoon for the visitors and a statement performance from the home side.

Standout players

San Ignacio’s centre-forward led the line superbly, scoring twice and occupying both centre-backs. The midfielder running the left channel was also outstanding, creating chances and driving forward with purpose. At the back, the goalkeeper had little to do but remained alert to keep the clean sheet.

For Aurrera, the goalkeeper prevented an even heavier defeat with several saves, while the captain tried to keep the team organised despite the scoreline. It was a day to forget for the visitors.

Table impact

The three points and a five-goal swing will boost San Ignacio’s standings and confidence. In a competitive Tercera División RFEF group, goal difference can matter, and this result gives them a valuable advantage. Aurrera de Vitoria will need to reset quickly, tighten their defensive shape and find a way to stop the run of goals conceded.
