SD Ejea made home advantage count in the Spanish Tercera División RFEF on Sunday, beating CD Sietamo 2-1 in a competitive Aragón-region encounter that was decided by the home side's greater ruthlessness in front of goal. The 18:00 kick-off produced a tight, physical contest, but Ejea's ability to convert their best spells into goals proved the decisive factor.

A Win Built on Patience

Ejea approached the fixture knowing that the Tercera División RFEF rewards consistency above all else. With the season moving into its early autumn rhythm, every home match against regional rivals takes on extra value, and the hosts played with that awareness from the first whistle. They controlled possession without overcommitting, kept their shape disciplined and waited for the chances they knew would come.

Sietamo, for their part, were far from passive. The visitors pressed well in midfield and looked dangerous on the counter, but a combination of hurried finishing and strong goalkeeping kept them from turning their pressure into a lead.

How the Match Unfolded

The opening half hour was a study in midfield attrition. Ejea probed down the flanks, while Sietamo looked to squeeze the space between the lines and launch quick transitions. The breakthrough, when it arrived, came from exactly the sort of patient build-up the home coach had demanded — a move that stretched the visiting defence before being finished with composure inside the penalty area.

Sietamo responded well and struck back before the interval, punishing a momentary lapse in concentration at the back. That goal changed the mood of the game and set up a tense second period in which both teams knew a single moment could settle the outcome.

Key Moments

• Ejea's opener — a well-worked attacking move that broke the deadlock and rewarded the hosts' early control.
• Sietamo's equaliser — a sharp reaction that levelled the score and briefly silenced the home crowd.
• The winning goal — Ejea restored their advantage after the break with a finish that underlined their edge in the final third.
• Late defensive resistance — a series of blocks and clearances in the closing minutes protected all three points.

Tactical Story

Ejea set up in a compact mid-block, inviting Sietamo forward and then striking into the space behind. Their full-backs pushed high to stretch the pitch, creating numerical advantages in wide areas that repeatedly caused problems. Sietamo's response was to defend narrower and rely on long, direct service to their forwards, a plan that worked intermittently but left them vulnerable to quick turnovers.

The second half saw Ejea tighten their grip on the game, dropping their midfield line slightly deeper to deny space in behind while still committing numbers to counter-attacks. It was a pragmatic adjustment, and it ultimately won them the match.

Standout Players

Ejea's attacking players deserve credit for their movement and link-up play, particularly in the build-up to both goals. The goalkeeper also played a crucial role, producing important saves at moments when Sietamo were gaining momentum. For the visitors, the midfield pressing and the energy of their wide players stood out, even in defeat.

What the Result Means

The three points lift Ejea's confidence heading into the next round of fixtures and reinforce their reputation as a difficult team to beat at home. For Sietamo, the display offered encouragement but also a reminder of how small the margins are in this division. In a league where promotion and relegation battles are often decided by a handful of points, narrow away defeats such as this one can prove costly by the spring.

Both clubs now turn their attention to the next matchday, with Ejea looking to build a run of form and Sietamo searching for the consistency that turns promising performances into results.
