SD Eibar C claimed a 2-1 victory over Santurtzi CD in the Spanish Tercera División RFEF on 18 October 2026, using a strong first-half display to secure all three points at home.

Eibar C’s fast start sets the tone

SD Eibar C began the 18:00 fixture with purpose, moving the ball quickly and pressing Santurtzi CD high up the pitch. The young home side looked comfortable in possession and created the first clear chance of the match inside the opening 10 minutes. Their early dominance was rewarded when a well-timed run into the box was picked out by a precise through-ball, and the finish was confident and low into the corner.

Match overview

Eibar C doubled their lead before half-time with a goal that showcased their attacking quality. A quick passing sequence on the edge of the area opened up space for a shot, and the effort was struck cleanly past the Santurtzi goalkeeper. At 2-0, the home side looked in complete control, but Santurtzi showed signs of life before the break and forced a couple of corners that caused brief concern.

The second half was more competitive. Santurtzi CD came out with greater intensity, pressing higher and forcing Eibar C into a few mistakes. Their improved approach paid off just after the hour mark when a cross from the left was met with a determined header, pulling the score back to 2-1. That goal set up a tense finish, but Eibar C managed the game well in the closing stages, keeping possession and limiting Santurtzi’s chances to equalise.

Key moments

• 18 minutes: SD Eibar C take the lead with a low finish after a well-weighted through-ball.
• 42 minutes: Eibar C double their advantage with a clean strike from the edge of the box.
• 55 minutes: Santurtzi CD force a good save from the Eibar C goalkeeper with a header from a corner.
• 63 minutes: Santurtzi pull one back with a powerful header from a left-wing cross.

Tactical story

Eibar C’s success came from their quick ball movement and the willingness of their midfielders to break forward. They dominated the first half by winning second balls and switching play effectively. Santurtzi’s response after the break was to press higher and force Eibar C into longer passes. That worked for a while, and the visitors’ goal came from exactly that kind of pressure. But Eibar C’s composure in the final 20 minutes saw them over the line.

Standout performers

Eibar C’s forward was a constant threat, scoring the opening goal and linking play well throughout. The midfielder who scored the second goal also impressed with his energy and timing of runs into the box. For Santurtzi, the left-sided attacker was their best outlet and delivered the cross that led to their goal.

What the point means

The win lifts SD Eibar C up the Tercera División RFEF table and gives their young squad another confidence boost. Santurtzi CD, meanwhile, will take encouragement from their second-half display but will be frustrated to leave empty-handed. With the season still taking shape, Eibar C’s ability to close out a narrow victory could prove to be an important asset.
