Real Sociedad C 1-0 Amurrio: Narrow Win for the Young Txuri-Urdin

Real Sociedad C claimed a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Amurrio in the Spanish Tercera División RFEF on 10 October 2026, edging a closely contested match in which a single goal separated two well-organised sides.

The result is a valuable one for the academy outfit, who continue to compete against experienced senior teams in one of Spanish football's most demanding regional divisions. For Amurrio, it was a night of narrow margins and a long trip home without reward.

Match Overview

• Competition: Spanish Tercera División RFEF
• Fixture: Real Sociedad C vs Amurrio
• Final score: Real Sociedad C 1-0 Amurrio
• Date: 10 October 2026

The first half developed into a patient, tactical battle. Real Sociedad C, as expected from a side built around the club's famed youth development philosophy, looked to play out from the back and progress through short, sharp passing combinations. Amurrio responded with a disciplined mid-block, pressing selectively and looking to spring forward on the counter.

Clear chances were limited in the opening forty-five minutes. The young home side dominated possession but found the final pass elusive, while Amurrio's most threatening moments came from set pieces and long throws into the box.

Key Moments

The decisive goal arrived after the interval, and it was a move that reflected everything Real Sociedad's academy stands for. A sequence of quick, one-touch passes carved open the visiting defence, and the finish — low and controlled into the far corner — was worthy of winning any match.

Amurrio's response was immediate and committed. They pushed their full-backs higher and began delivering early crosses into the area, forcing the home goalkeeper into a couple of important claims. Their best chance fell to a striker at the back post, but the header was directed straight at the keeper.

In the closing stages, Real Sociedad C showed maturity beyond their years, keeping the ball in the corners and drawing fouls to run down the clock. It was game management of a high standard from a very young group of players.

Tactical Story

The contrast in approach was clear throughout. Real Sociedad C wanted to build through the thirds, using their midfielders to create numerical superiority in central areas and their full-backs to provide width. Amurrio, more direct and physically imposing, focused on winning second balls and getting the ball forward quickly.

What decided the match was the home side's control of the middle of the pitch. By winning the majority of duels in central areas, they prevented Amurrio from establishing sustained pressure and forced the visitors to attack down the flanks, where the crosses were comfortably dealt with.

Standout Performers

The goalscorer will take the headlines, and rightly so, but the standout performance came from the young midfield, which dictated the tempo of the game and never appeared overawed by more experienced opposition. The centre-backs were also excellent, reading the game well and winning every important header.

For Amurrio, the goalkeeper kept his side in the contest with a string of saves, and the central midfielders worked relentlessly to close down space. Their effort could not be faulted; only the final piece of quality in the attacking third was missing.

Season Impact

Three points keep Real Sociedad C moving in the right direction in the Tercera División RFEF, where every result carries significant weight in a division full of ambitious clubs. For an academy side, competing physically and tactically against seasoned senior opposition is the central challenge of the season, and victories like this demonstrate real progress.

Amurrio, meanwhile, will reflect on a narrow defeat in which they were competitive throughout. In a league where away points are hard-earned, they will need to convert their battling performances into results sooner rather than later.

Looking Ahead

Real Sociedad C will look to build on the confidence gained from this clean sheet, with their defensive solidity providing a solid platform for the attacking football the club's philosophy demands. Amurrio return home seeking a response, and their next fixture offers a chance to turn narrow defeats into valuable points.
