Leganes B secured a hard-fought 2-1 away victory over RC Alcobendas in the Spanish Tercera División RFEF on 18 October 2026. The reserve side’s energy and quick transitions proved decisive in a match that was closely contested from start to finish.

Match overview

Leganes B started with intent, pressing RC Alcobendas high and forcing errors in the home side’s build-up. Alcobendas grew into the game and enjoyed longer spells of possession, but they struggled to break down a well-organised Leganes back line. The visitors took the lead in the first half, only for Alcobendas to equalise after the break. A late goal settled the contest in Leganes B’s favour.

Key moments

• 27th minute: Leganes B took the lead after a turnover in midfield, with a quick pass releasing the forward to finish beyond the goalkeeper.
• 52nd minute: RC Alcobendas equalised through a well-worked move down the left, finished with a first-time strike at the near post.
• 78th minute: The winner came from a Leganes B corner, with a header powering into the net despite the goalkeeper’s best efforts.

Tactical story

Leganes B’s success was built on their pressing structure. The young side closed down Alcobendas’ midfield runners and forced long passes, then attacked quickly through the channels. Alcobendas had more possession but lacked penetration in the final third. Their equaliser came from their best spell of the game, but Leganes B’s response was calm, and the set-piece winner reflected their determination.

Standout performers

Leganes B’s central midfielder covered enormous ground and was central to both goals, winning possession and distributing efficiently. The centre-back who scored the winner was commanding in the air throughout. For RC Alcobendas, the goalkeeper made several excellent saves to keep his side in the match, while the left winger was their most consistent attacking threat.

Season impact

The three points give Leganes B momentum in the Tercera División RFEF Group 7 campaign and underline the quality of their academy pipeline. For RC Alcobendas, the defeat is a missed opportunity to climb the table, but the performance showed enough to suggest they can compete with the division’s stronger sides.
