Rayo Vallecano B held to 1-1 draw by CD Colonia Moscardo

Rayo Vallecano B and CD Colonia Moscardo played out a competitive 1-1 draw in the Spanish Tercera División RFEF on Sunday, 25 October 2026. The Madrid-based meeting produced a tight, tactical contest in which both sides had spells of control but neither could find a winning goal.

For Rayo Vallecano B, the result represents a useful point in a demanding reserve-team environment, where development and results must be balanced. CD Colonia Moscardo, meanwhile, will take encouragement from a disciplined away performance against one of the stronger academy sides in the division.

Match overview

The first half was played at a high tempo, with Rayo Vallecano B looking to impose themselves through quick passing and movement in the wide areas. CD Colonia Moscardo responded with a compact defensive block and looked to strike on the break. The visitors took the lead against the run of play, converting a well-executed attacking move that caught Rayo’s back line slightly out of shape.

Rayo Vallecano B continued to probe and were rewarded after the interval. A period of sustained pressure eventually produced the equalising goal, restoring parity and setting up an open final half-hour. Both teams pushed for a winner, but clear chances became harder to find as fatigue and caution set in.

Key moments

• Colonia Moscardo strike first: The visitors opened the scoring with a sharp attacking sequence, finishing decisively after finding space between the full-back and centre-back.
• Rayo respond before the hour: Rayo Vallecano B equalised through a patient build-up, working the ball into a dangerous area before converting from close range.
• Late chances: Both sides had half-chances in the closing stages, but neither goalkeeper was forced into a decisive save.

Tactical story

Rayo Vallecano B dominated possession for long periods but found it difficult to break down a well-organised CD Colonia Moscardo defence. The visitors defended their box in numbers and were happy to concede territory, relying on quick transitions to create danger. That approach nearly delivered all three points.

Rayo’s equaliser came from better circulation and more aggressive movement in the final third. The home side’s midfielders pushed higher after the break, allowing the wide players to receive closer to goal. Still, Colonia Moscardo’s resilience ensured the reserve side could not complete the comeback.

Standout performers

Rayo Vallecano B’s midfield driving force was central to their second-half improvement, while the defence recovered well after a shaky opening goal. CD Colonia Moscardo’s goalkeeper and centre-backs deserved credit for their organisation, and the visitors’ forwards caused problems whenever they were able to counter at speed.

What the result means

Both teams add one point to their Tercera División RFEF tally. For Rayo Vallecano B, the draw highlights the value of patience and squad rotation in a long season. For CD Colonia Moscardo, the away point is a solid result that reflects their growing competitiveness in the division.
