Pontevedra CF B 3-1 Silva SD: Home Side Turn Control into Three Points

Pontevedra CF B produced a confident attacking display to beat Silva SD 3-1 in the Spanish Tercera División RFEF, turning territorial control into a deserved home victory. The reserve side set the tempo early, created the clearer chances and protected its advantage with enough composure to close out the game after Silva SD briefly threatened a comeback.

The match was decided by Pontevedra CF B’s ability to win the ball high and attack quickly. Silva SD had spells of possession, particularly after the interval, but the home team’s sharper movement in the final third made the difference. The three points strengthen Pontevedra CF B’s position and give the squad further momentum in a competitive Tercera División RFEF campaign.

Key Moments

• 12th minute: Pontevedra CF B opened the scoring after a quick turnover, with a low finish from inside the penalty area.
• 38th minute: The home side doubled its lead following a well-worked move down the right, finished with a composed strike.
• 63rd minute: Silva SD pulled one back with a headed effort from a set piece, giving the visitors renewed hope.
• 84th minute: Pontevedra CF B sealed the win with a late counter-attacking goal, finishing calmly after Silva SD pushed numbers forward.

Tactical Story

Pontevedra CF B’s pressing structure was central to the result. The home side forced Silva SD into rushed passes in midfield and repeatedly regained possession in useful areas. When Pontevedra CF B won the ball, the wide players stretched the pitch and created space for runners through the middle. That balance between aggressive pressing and quick transitions gave Silva SD problems throughout the first hour.

Silva SD improved after its goal and enjoyed more of the ball in the closing stages, but the visitors struggled to create clear-cut chances against a compact back line. Pontevedra CF B dropped slightly deeper late on, accepted the invitation to defend and then punished Silva SD on the break for the third goal.

Standout Performers and What It Means

Pontevedra CF B’s midfield unit deserved credit for controlling the rhythm of the match, while the home defence dealt well with the aerial threat Silva SD introduced in the second half. Silva SD’s goalkeeper made several important saves to keep the scoreline respectable, but the visitors were ultimately left to reflect on a lack of cutting edge.

The win gives Pontevedra CF B a valuable three points and reinforces the reserve side’s ability to compete physically and tactically in the Tercera División RFEF. For Silva SD, the defeat is a reminder that good possession phases must be converted into meaningful chances, especially away from home.
