Erandio Claim Basque Derby Bragging Rights Away to Pasaia

SD Erandio Club made a confident statement in the Spanish Tercera División RFEF on Saturday night, cruising to a 2-0 victory away to Pasaia KE. The result strengthens Erandio's position in the early standings while leaving their hosts with plenty of work to do in a demanding Basque regional league campaign.

Erandio established control from the outset, keeping the ball efficiently and passing through Pasaia's midfield offers with ease. The visitors’ first goal arrived midway through the first half after a sustained spell of possession, when a well-timed first-time cross from the right found the unmarked forward, who powered a header beyond the Pasaia goalkeeper. The home side attempted to respond, but Erandio's pressing midfield denied them any rhythm in the final third.

The second half followed a similar pattern. Pasaia came out with increased intensity, but Erandio absorbed the pressure and struck again on the counter-attack. A neat one-two between the striker and attacking midfielder carved open the home defence, and a cool finish into the bottom corner made the result safe with half an hour remaining.

Pasaia KE pushed forward late on but rarely forced a meaningful save from the Erandio goalkeeper, who had a fairly quiet evening behind an assured back four. The away supporters were left to savour a thoroughly professional performance, as Erandio moved to within touching distance of the summit in the early Tercera RFEF table.
