Motril produced a controlled 2-0 victory over CD Alhaurino in the Spanish Tercera División RFEF on September 28, 2026, scoring in each half to secure a deserved home win. The result extends Motril’s positive form and leaves CD Alhaurino still searching for consistency in a competitive regional group.

Match Overview

Motril started brightly and took the lead midway through the first half, settling any early nerves. From there, they managed the game intelligently, denying CD Alhaurino space in midfield and forcing the visitors to chase the ball. A second goal after the break effectively ended the contest, and Motril saw out the closing stages without serious alarm.

The clean sheet was a particular highlight. Motril’s defensive line stayed compact, the midfield screen protected the back four, and Alhaurino’s best efforts came from distance rather than clear chances inside the box.

Key Moments

• 24th minute: Motril opened the scoring with a neatly worked move, finished off with a first-time shot from inside the area.
• 41st minute: CD Alhaurino forced a save from a free kick, their most promising moment of the first half.
• 58th minute: Motril went close again, a header flashing just over the crossbar from a corner.
• 71st minute: Motril doubled the lead, capitalising on a loose ball and finishing calmly past the goalkeeper.
• 86th minute: Alhaurino pushed bodies forward but found no way through a well-organised home defence.

Tactical Story

Motril used a flexible 4-2-3-1 that became a 4-4-2 out of possession, allowing them to press in the middle third without leaving the centre-backs exposed. Their two goals came from different patterns: one from a quick combination in the final third, the other from pressing Alhaurino into a turnover. That variety made them difficult to defend against.

CD Alhaurino tried to build from the back, but Motril’s front players cut off passing lanes effectively. When the visitors did manage to progress, their final ball was often rushed. Alhaurino’s manager made changes in the second half to add width and fresh legs, but Motril’s midfield continued to win the important second balls.

Standout Players

Motril’s attacking midfielder was central to everything good his team produced, linking play and setting the tempo. The striker who scored the second goal showed excellent movement, while the goalkeeper was alert when called upon for a clean sheet. For CD Alhaurino, the left winger was their most willing outlet, but he lacked support in the final third.

Standings Impact

Motril collect a valuable three points and strengthen their position in the Spanish Tercera División RFEF table. The manner of the win, with two goals and a clean sheet, will boost confidence. CD Alhaurino, meanwhile, must regroup quickly. In a league where home form is often the foundation of a promotion push, this was a clear statement from Motril.
