Moralo CP came from behind to defeat Castuera 2-1 in the Spanish Tercera División RFEF on Sunday, producing a determined second-half comeback at home. Castuera took an early lead and defended stubbornly for much of the match, but Moralo’s persistence eventually paid off. The victory gives Moralo three valuable points and reinforces their reputation as a difficult side to beat on home soil.

Match overview

The match started with Castuera looking compact and dangerous on the counterattack. Moralo CP controlled possession but initially struggled to break down a well-organized defensive block. The visitors took the lead in the 19th minute with a swift attacking move that caught Moralo’s back line slightly exposed. Rather than panic, Moralo continued to probe and were rewarded with an equalizer just before halftime. The second half was a test of patience and fitness, and Moralo eventually found the winning goal in the 72nd minute.

Key moments

Castuera’s opener came from a quick transition, with a forward finishing neatly after a pass split the Moralo defense. Moralo responded by increasing the tempo and pushing their full-backs higher. The equalizer arrived in the 44th minute from a set-piece situation, with a header finding the back of the net after a dangerous delivery. That goal changed the mood of the match and gave Moralo momentum going into the break. In the second half, Moralo dominated territory and created several half-chances before scoring the winner in the 72nd minute, finishing from close range after a scramble in the box.

Tactical story

Moralo CP’s game was based on possession and patient buildup, but they had to adapt after falling behind. Their midfield began to play more vertically, and the wide players stretched Castuera’s defense, creating gaps in the final third. Castuera defended bravely and looked to counter, but as the match wore on, their energy levels dropped and they struggled to keep up with Moralo’s movement. The home side’s substitutions also added fresh legs and helped maintain pressure during the decisive final 20 minutes.

Standout performers

Moralo’s central midfielder was instrumental in driving the comeback, dictating the tempo and winning possession in key areas. The scorer of the equalizer showed excellent aerial strength, while the match-winner demonstrated sharp instincts in the box. Castuera’s goalkeeper made several important saves to keep his side in the contest, and their forward caused problems on the break, but the visitors could not hold on for a point.

Season impact

The 2-1 win strengthens Moralo CP’s position in the Tercera División RFEF group and adds to their home record. Coming from behind is a good sign for their character and resilience. For Castuera, the defeat is a frustrating one after taking the lead, and it highlights the importance of managing tight matches away from home. Both sides will take lessons from the contest, but Moralo will be the happier team as they look ahead to their next fixtures.

The result keeps Moralo’s momentum moving in the right direction, while Castuera must recover quickly from a narrow loss.
