Montijo 2-0 CF Jaraiz: Hosts Stay Solid at Home in Tercera División RFEF

Montijo secured a composed 2-0 victory over CF Jaraiz in the Spanish Tercera División RFEF, delivering a performance built on defensive discipline and two well-timed goals that broke the visitors' resistance in Extremadura.

It was a result that reflected the balance of the contest: Montijo were sharper in both boxes, more aggressive in the duels that mattered and, crucially, far more clinical when the chances arrived. CF Jaraiz competed gamely but never found a way back once the hosts took the lead.

Match Overview

The first half was a scrappy, hard-fought affair, typical of the Tercera División RFEF where space is limited and physicality is a given. Montijo gradually gained control, pressing Jaraiz high and forcing turnovers in the middle third.

The breakthrough came from sustained pressure, and once the home side had the advantage, the shape of the game changed entirely. Jaraiz were forced to commit more players forward, and Montijo picked them off with a second goal that effectively settled the result.

Key Moments

• Opening goal: A well-worked move down the left created the shooting chance, and the finish was emphatic.
• The defensive block: Montijo's centre-backs cleared two dangerous deliveries to preserve the lead before half-time.
• Second goal: A turnover in midfield led to a rapid counter-attack and a finish that put the game beyond doubt.
• Jaraiz's best chance: A header from a corner forced a sharp save late on, the visitors' clearest opportunity of the afternoon.

Tactical Story

Montijo's approach was simple but effective: a compact mid-block, aggressive pressing in wide areas, and quick vertical passes forward once possession was won. Their midfielders repeatedly arrived late in the box, which caused CF Jaraiz consistent problems.

Jaraiz struggled to build through the middle and were pushed toward hopeful crosses, which suited the hosts' aerial strength. When the visitors did get into promising positions, the final pass was rushed — a recurring theme of their afternoon.

Standout Performers

Montijo's goalscorers will take the headlines, but the foundation was laid by their defensive line, which kept a clean sheet and limited CF Jaraiz to a handful of half-chances. The goalkeeper's late save preserved a deserved shutout.

For CF Jaraiz, the captain in midfield was the standout, constantly looking to drive his team forward and never shirking the physical battle in the centre of the park.

What It Means for the Table

Three points and a clean sheet strengthen Montijo's standing in the Tercera División RFEF and maintain their reputation as a difficult team to beat on home turf. Home form is the backbone of any promotion or playoff challenge at this level, and Montijo are building theirs steadily.

CF Jaraiz leave with nothing, though their performance offered some encouragement. The margin between the sides was small in terms of effort, but decisive in terms of quality in the final third.
